Waiting for Something Unknown

I stood there, patiently waiting for something to happen.

Time seemed to pass slowly, in no rush.

My heart pounded nervously as nothing happened.

The gentle breeze put me in a silent hush.

Tic-toc Tic-toc

The clock slowly beat and made every second known.

I subconsioucly looked over my shoulder to my back,

Hoping something might have been prostponed.

I know not of I'm waiting for,

But here I patiently and nervously stand,

Keeping my eyes wandering forth.

And even though I came here without a plan,

I know deep down I have a chance.

The atmosphere is gently quiet,

And I casually leaned against a brick wall.

I look around at the passing riot,

And realize that my hopes and dreams will one day fall.

I take a deep breath and look at the time.

Somehow I know nothing is coming.

Giving in to defeat, I dissapointedly sigh.

Walking away from where I stood,

It changed my mood to something I can't describe.

My once high hopes crumbled.

I'm waiting for something unknown and I know it won't happen.

I'm out of luck.

I give up.
