He laid on the grass that cold breezy night,
Basking in the light of the full moon above.
His chest rose with every breath,
Surrendering his soul to the moonlight.Tired was that man.
Waking up to the same routine day after day,
He wanted something different, he wanted some change.
But no matter what he did, nothing ever went as planned. How beautiful was that tranquil night,
Calming and cool below that starry sky.
How peaceful was that quiet melody,
His heart dancing steadily with it's own blight. And yet the only thing he could think of was his pain.
How he hurt and didn't know why,
He had no spark to continue, yet here he was day after day. He'd close his eyes and think of the sun,
How its rays brought warmth to everything it touched.
How darkness and cold were sent away 'til the night.
There was never a fight. And yet he could only remember the fear he felt.
The fear of the rope in his grasp,
The fear of standing on the edge of that bridge,
The fear of the cold metal to his skin.Tears flowed from his shut eyes those days as they did now below the light of the moon.
He was tired of being afraid, but afraid to move.He saw the beauty in everything around him,
The sunshine and warmth
But the hate in his heart numbed him
He didn't know what else to do.Some days he didn't feel a thing,
And on others he felt everything at once.
Today was once of those days,
He realised he's had enough.Silently he cried out to the moon,
He begged for a moment of peace.
To soothe his heart full of emotions,
For his pain to cease.
