An Ode to Sherlock Holmes

The sky was grey that day
The day that you fell
And although John didn't know it
It matched his mood very well

You stood on the ledge
Teetering between life and death
While waiting for John
To see you take your final breath

He didn't understand
Why you stood up so high
And he never got
Why you wanted to die

Dear John you called
I'm a fraud and a fake
So once again my dear John
My life I will take

I failed as detective
And as a mate
So I'll fall to the ground
To seal my heinous fate

He begged and he pleaded
But to no avail
Because you fell over the ledge
And hung by the metal rail

Please don't Sherlock
I need you by my side
Our poor John
So desperately cried

But Sherlock wouldn't listen
The wind whipping in his ears
So he jumped to end
All his fraud filled years

His blood stained the ground
A puddle of crimson red
And then my friends
Sherlock Holmes was dead

He took the leap
And gave John a final call
So now this day is known as
The Reichenbach Fall
