Chapter 10: An Agent's Gotta do Work

After we had breakfast, the team left for the investigation leaving only me, Jack and Luke in the house. I don't know what happened but, both of these men- Jack and Luke- were acting a little closed up and way too much weird. I know that I haven't talked to them that long but, compared to the team, they acted weird.

Don't believe me? Okay, this is how our conversation went:

Jack: Miss Moss, do you need a walking stick?

Me: Thanks for the concern but just out of curiosity...why ask such a rhetoric question?

Luke: Miss Moss it wasn't rhetoric-

Me: Call me Ashley. Being addressed by my last name makes me feel old.

Luke: -question Ashley. We thought you'd need it for a night walk.

Me: I beg your pardon?

Jack: Oh forget it, this was just a joke.

Me: The preamble wasn't needed. I figured out already.

Luke: Do you need anything?

Me: No, but do you know the-

And just like that, leaving me in my mid-sentence- they stormed off.

Do I look like a witch?

I sighed and made my way to my room. Guess I can't use skype now.

So apparently, a lot happened during the breakfast.

For example; Johann got a call from my parents as I hadn't called them ever since I reached here. As guessed I got all the due love over the phone cue to which came the scolding. Anyways, my parents made me promise that I'd skype them and I nodded. The second thing that happened was that Jess disclosed her boyfriend's name that was Quentin. She told us that he was an architect and was Irish.

'Cause both Jack and Luke left me hanging here, I could not ask them the Wi-Fi's password. Oh joy.

I sat down on my bed playing candy crush for a while before my stomach started to feel empty. Groaning I got out of the bed and headed towards the kitchen. I grabbed a packet of Cheetos and made my way back to the room. I heard a roar that made me stop in my steps. Frowning, I looked to my right only to find Luke sleeping on the floor and heard another roar. This time looking to my left, I found Jack sleeping on the dining table with a spoon in his mouth. I giggled when I realized that they had been snorting and moved forward.

I stopped short in my steps when I saw a figure, and immediately turned around. I breathed in relief when I saw that it was Allen, although he didn't seemed too relief.

My eyes widened when I saw that he was wearing a cap. He turned to me and my eyes narrowed on him. The dark circles he had seemed to magically disappear and his red lips looked pale, his laughing lines were there but, almost looked faded.

"Hey! I thought that you left with everybody."

"I did. But, I forgot something so I came back."
"Oh..."

"Annie, do you have anything important to ask?"

My eyebrows shot up at his annoyed and weird behaviour. I looked down and found him wearing his same clothes but, verified again. I felt it was almost impossible that Allen could be annoyed far as call me out with a wrong name.

"What's the Wi-Fi password?"

"JohannaF***sEmmaWatson."

With that, he raced out of the door leaving me the hallway alone with my jaw on the ground. I blinked one time, then two times, then three times. And the saga of blinking continued until I shook my head and headed back to the room, still shocked.
