Chapter 3

I wake up. I freak out then the reality of yesterday came back to me. 'So it wasn't a dream,' unfortunately I think to myself. I get up and explore the room.
I run my hands along the walls and stub my toe on a tabel. I cuss to myself quietly and feel along the tabel. On it was what felt like a lamp.
I switch on the light and wince waiting for my eyes to adjust to the light.
I look around the small-ish room. In it was a couch and a book shelf filled with non-fiction history books. "Eww." I mutter to myself.
"What? You don't like history?" I jump as I hear a voice behind me question.
"Not really," I replied shyly.
"The others asked me to bring you down stairs." He said. I looked into his green eyes.
"What are they going to do to me?" I asked and backed up farther into the room.
"I don't know, but the only way to find out is to go down there and ask." He replied.
"What's your name?" I asked. "Just wondering." I added.
"I am Ash. What's your name?" Ash asked me.
"Rachel." I replied and took a deep breath. "Okay, I will go down there."

Ash walked me down the stair and into what looked like a living room. The tall man with the scar, the short man, and the other man who had taken off his hood and 2 women, one with black curly hair and the other with long straight blonde hair, sat in the room waiting.
"Thank you, Ash." Said the women with the black hair. Ash sat across from her and stuck up his thumb as if saying "good luck!" I turned to the short man who seemed to be in charge.
"Why am I here?" I asked trying to be confident.
"Because," I spun around and saw the blond women speaking, "we need you for a, let's say, 'task'" she finished ominously.
I looked away nervously and spoke with all the confidence I had left, (which wasn't much) "What this 'task'"
"You will find out when we need you to find out but for now, we want to see your strengths." The blonde woman responded.
"What type of strengths?" I asked suspiciously.
"First we test you physically, then we test you mentally, then emotionally. You will go through 21 tests. Each subject gets 7 different tests. You will have a new test every day. If you resist, well hopefully you trust me when I say it won't be pretty." The blonde woman explained.
"When do they start?" I asked.
"Tomorrow." She replied.
