In Her World(Urban)

The cook out

Me and Keabran arrived at the cook out , but I didn't get out yet. I looked in the rear view mirror only to see him sound asleep.

"Wish I could do that right about now."I said to him but he was sleep.

I got out the car and went to the backseat and got his babybag and Car seat. I got his car seat out because I don't want everyone trying to hold my child. Yes this half of his family ,but still i don't know them like that.

Its bad enough I'm here matching with this fool.Now every body finna be looking at me upside my damn head.

I followed the load music and smell of barbeque into the backyard. It was the typical back yard barbeque. The patio to the left side of the Gate leading to the back of the home was filled with barbeque grills , plates, eating utensils , cups ,and drinks.
There were lights all around the patio making it stand out.
To the right side , there were tables and chairs. The speakers and the 'dj' was in the far corner. Straight ahead was the water slides , space jumps , and the swing sets and trampoline.

I walked to where everyone was and sat Keabran's Car seat in the chair beside the one I was going to sit in.

"Hey everybody." I spoke to everyone who was staring me upside my damn face.

"Hey Ko, baby I'm glad you and the little one could make it." Keisha said while hugging me.

I hugged her back. She looked in the baby seat and cooed at Keabran.

"He so cute when he sleep. He looks just like you." She said rubbing his hands.

I wanted to say Bitch you know he don't look nothing like me ! He look just like yo' son. But I was taught to respect my elders so I said ," Thank you."

She then looked up and looked behind me, I looked and Jeremy was behind me.
" The little family matching. This is so cute."His cousin Tracey said .

I side eyed her. I never liked this fisheyed bitch. I smiled and said," Hey Tracey, how you doing?"

She looked at me and then walked off.Bitch

"Aye ,Ko can I talk to you for a minute." Jeremy said .

I looked up to see him holding Keabran.I grabbed all of his things and we went into the house. And went in his room.

I sat his things on bed and looked at Keabran. He looked like he didn't like Jeremy. I laughed.

"What's funny?"Jeremy asked looking up at me.

"He don't like you .But what you wanted to talk about?" I got Keabran from Jeremy because he was about to cry.

"I wanted to tell you how sorry I am for not believing you.I know I was your first but I couldn't believe I'm somebody daddy. I wrapped up though , which is another reason why I couldn't believe it. Ko, I know I messed up. But I want to be in his life . I don't want him growing up like me . I don't want him to grow up breaking Lil girls hearts. " He finished and looked at me. He looked sincere.

I looked down at Keabran to see him asleep again. I placed him back in his car seat. "Jeremy, the only reason your in his life now is because my momma threatened you with child support. Out of his Nine months of life , this is the second time you have seen him.And you can't say you didnt know he was yours ,because he looks just like you and we had a DNA test done . What was your excuse ?" I asked looking him in his eyes.

He was silent for a moment,"I was scared Ko, I didn't know what to do. I ain't wanna come in his life and be a Fuck up. I'm here now though and I'm gone be there for him no matter what and I mean that."
