Part 5

Hayden's POV:

I sat alone at the table in the cafeteria for the rest of the lunch break. When the bell rang I grabbed my books from my locker and made my way class dreading every step as well as decision I had made today. I remembered that I had to sit next to Devin and sighed deeply. I walked into class and noticed Lily looking at me and looking back down when she realized I was returning her looks. I sighed again and walked past Lily and sat next to Devin.

Lily's POV:

I saw Hayden walk into class and a wave of guilt washed over me. "Why should I even care?" I thought. I heard the teacher begin to speak and I turned my attention over to him. "So, I know it's early but to bad for you, there's going to be a project starting tomorrow. I've chosen your partners for you already so don't even bother giving the look to your best friends." he picked his list of partners for the project, " so, Devin is with- um Hayden " I sighed and closed my eyes just to hear " Yes so Devin is with Hayden and Lily" I froze and slammed my head onto my desk. " aw what's wrong Lily, I can't choose anyone else for you I'm sorry " I picked my head up, " But Mr. Wilson, I don't co-operate well with them " Hayden just had to put his little nose in everything, " oh no, we work really well together, remember? last year we got an A. right Devin " I felt like slapping his face. I turned around, " yes Hayden, an A " I sighed. " You might also need to meet up with these people because the project is huge " he continued with his list.

Lily's POV:

I stretched at the end of class and left the room to gather my things from my locker. I was about to leave the school's court when I spotted Danielle standing by the gate on her phone. I ran up to her and asked her which way her house was. She pointed the same direction I go and so we ended up walking home together. "So much happened for the first day of school" I said. Danielle looked at me "Why? Did anything else happen after the cafeteria?". I sighed "I have to do a project for class" I said. "Me too!" Danielle said we both looked at each other and said "And I'm paired up with them." we both said together. I started laughing and realized something. "Wait, what do you mean by them? I thought there was only Jacob." Danielle giggled a bit "Ahhh no. There's also Aaron. I think I'm starting to like him too."
