Part 13

Devin's POV:

After I went to the bathroom I came back and saw Hayden and Lily except... Lily was on top of Hayden and they were staring at each other. I got kind of jealous and I wasn't in the mood to have another argument with Hayden so I just mumbled an 'oh' and walked off. I was about to grab something quick to eat from the cafeteria when I ran into Amanda. I hadn't talked to her in a while and I noticed her approaching me so I decided to have a small conversation. We started talking about funny things that happened in middle school and we started laughing. We were talking about the way Hayden looks when he's genuinely scared and when we were partners for the Halloween haunted house. He grabbed my shoulder when we were in the dark and asked 'Devin! is that you!? are you there!?'. Amanda started imitating him by placing her hand on my shoulder and we laughed again. After that, Amanda brought up Lily.

"So I just wanted to bring up the cafeteria from a few weeks ago. What happened? that's the first time you've ever had an argument that heated up with Hayden. And that Lily girl. You would never like a girl like that." I furrowed my brows' at what Amanda said about Lily. "Why wouldn't I like her back?" Amanda shook her head. "I mean, come on. With those looks?" I just shook my head. "You shouldn't talk about her like that when you don't even know her." I was even more angry than I was before. Since when has Amanda been like that?

Jacob's POV:

Lily started to talk. "At least someone likes you." She said to Danielle. "What do you mean?" Danielle asked. Lily sighed. "Apparently Devin's going to ask Amanda out." I shook my head confused. Devin tells me almost everything and if he were to ask a girl out, he would've came to me for advice on how. "Wait. That's not true." Everyone looked at me. "What do you mean?" Aaron asked. "First of all, Amanda's already dating. I've seen her with her boyfriend at the park so many times. Second of all, He would've asked me for advice on how to ask out a girl and he didn't and third of all, why do you care Aaron?" Aaron just shrugged "Hey, I wanna be a part of this conversation too." we all laughed a bit and came back to the topic.

"What makes you think that anyway?" Danielle asked. "Hayden told me." Danielle lightly smacked the back of Lily's head. "You're such an idiot! You've known Hayden since middle school and you know he lies! and it's clearly a lie based off of what Jacob's saying." Danielle scolded Lily while Lily rubbed the back of her head. "But why would he lie about something like that?" Danielle started talking again. "Are you dumb? yep. You are clearly dumb. All that boy does is lie." Everyone went silent for a bit. Aaron suddenly spoke up. "I have no clue as to what you're talking about but I have only one conclusion. He likes you." I looked at him with a blank face and sarcastically said "OMG~ I never knew!~" I caught Danielle snickering at my remark. I noticed Devin walk into the basketball court again and I widened my eyes. 

Lily's POV:

I saw Jacob's eyes widen and I looked behind me. It was Devin. I quickly said bye and Danielle, Aaron and I left. Once we got to our lockers I went to class early and I smiled to myself knowing that I left the two alone together. I walked into the classroom early thinking no one was there and I breathed in deeply. "Freedom at last." I heard a deeper voice ask "What freedom?" I jumped at the boys answer and I look to see Hayden, sitting at the very back of the classroom in the corner. "Oh. You're here." He gave me a sarcastic smile and I returned the favor. I sat in my assigned seat and remembered what Aaron said earlier 'He likes you!' I started to cringe at the thought of Hayden and I dating and quickly shot that idea down. I heard the chair next to me being pulled out followed by "So." I didn't bother looking at him.

"You're a liar."  I said. I finally looked at Hayden "How?" he asked. "You told me that Devin was going to ask out Amanda. He's not." I heard Hayden clear his throat "I'm not lying."
