Part 17

Danielle's POV:

I'm walking to the park and all I see is a familiar boy with curly black hair walking in front of me. "Aaron?" I say as he turns around. "Oh hey Danielle!" he said "mind if I walk with you?"  I unconsciously asked. "Be my guest." It was so awkward so I decided to talk again. "So, what are you up to?" I ask. "oh nothing, just going to the pool, eating, thinking of you because I like you, eating, and more eating." He casually says. "WOAH WOAH WOAH! What did you say?" I widen my eyes. "eating?" "no, before that" I shake my head "eating?" he answers. "No, before that!" "pool party?" he stupidly asked. "No no no after that!" "I like you?" I freeze. "YES THAT! EXPLAIN." He laughs. "Didn't you know? I think it's been pretty darn obvious." He answers. "Not to me." I feel so annoying. "Oh, classic." he chuckles. He's so hot. "How do I know it's not just a dare?" he smirks. "well, i'll show you." and just like that, he kisses me. 

Aaron's POV:

It feels so good to finally tell Danielle how I feel about her. I can't believe that she never knew. I think it was pretty obvious from when we first met. To prove to her that this wasn't a dare I kissed her. I mean, it's about time, right? I made the kiss feel sweet, soft and short. After I backed away, she was stunned. Her shocked expression soon turned into a smile and she kissed me back. It wasn't a peck. After a few minutes of heaven on my lips, Danielle pulled back. "Wow." I said. "I was not expecting that." As soon as I said that Danielle started apologizing and saying how she was sorry if it bothered me. I start laughing and I reassure her that it was great. 

"Hey, I was thinking. Maybe you'd wanna grab dinner sometime?" I ask Danielle in a hopeful expression. She gave me her sweet smile that I adored. "Of course!" she said. 

Devin's POV:

"Why do you care, you have Amanda anyway" I was shocked to hear that. "Well maybe I did, but I still like you, and you're not giving me a clear answer. It's either Hayden or me." I said in a firm expression. "Look, i'm sorry but I like Hayden. It's just the way it is and I can't change that."  her words stung, but it's for the best. If she's happy I'm happy. "okay well, good luck." I smiled then walked away. Before I completely left she gave me a friendly hug and said "we can still be friends, I hope." I smiled and hugged her back.

~The Next Day~

Jacob's POV:

It wasn't particularly my favorite day today. Not just because it's Monday but because Danielle and Aaron are together now. I mean, I saw them holding hands today and laughing together so it was a clear sign that I lost my chance with her. I texted Danielle to meet up with me at lunch. 

~Lunch~

To make matters easier, I walked to her locker instead of waiting for her to walk to mine. As soon as I saw her my heart skipped a beat. "I should have made the move sooner." I say while approaching her. I don't think she heard me because she was rummaging through her locker. When she finally finished, she turned around and greeted me with a cute smile. "Hey. Sorry, I was just looking for my lunch money. What's up?" I sigh. "Look, I know that you and Aaron are a thing now but I just wanted to let you know that I've liked you for a long while. Ever since grade nine. That's ll I really wanted to say. I should've made my move earlier." 

Danielle's face dropped when she heard what I had to say and hugged me. I take in my last moments before I officially get friend-zoned. After letting go of me and backing away she starts talking. "Look-" I instantly stop her. "Hey. I have my pride and I already know what you're going to say. I really don't want to hear you friend-zone me." I heard her laugh.
