"Wake up wake up wake up!" Robin annoyingly yelled as he jumped on my bed.

Yesterday night, Audrey had laughed continuously for about five minutes straight at my sad and soggy state. I blamed Jake for making me look like crap, and he threatened to throw me into the pool again.

After finally finding Noah and Audrey, I explained what had happened and handed Noah my phone to put in his pocket since mine were unavailable.

Audrey drove me home and I got a long lecture from my mother about how it was late and I was going to get sick, so I showered and passed out on my bed.

So why my brother was waking me at seven in the morning, I had no idea.

"Shut up, Trashbin, or I'll dim the little bit of kindness you still have."

"Your boyfriend's here."

I snorted, smiling a bit. "Yeah right, and your girlfriend calls you everyday."

There was a slight couple of knocks on my door, before my mom's gentle voice said, "Honey, your friend from school came."

"The only friends I made should still be sleeping."

Honestly though, like hell were Audrey and Brooke going to be up at this hour, and Noah was probably knocked out too.

"He said his name was Jake."

I groaned loudly, not moving from my position on the bed. I was stomach-down on it, one leg stretched out. My head was facing the door, but my hair covered my face, my eyes closed. One arm was by my side and the other one was by my face, and I felt way too exhausted to even try to answer anything that wasn't composed of groaning or whining noises.

"He's waiting downstairs, hurry up," my mom demanded before I heard her footsteps retreating down the hall.

"Is he your boyfriend?" Robin asked once she was gone.

"He's barely even my friend."

"Then why'd he come?"

"I don't know, but I want him to leave and let me sleep."

"You won't be able to fall back asleep."

"Not with you still here."

I felt Robin lay down on my outstretched leg.

"I miss New York."

This made me finally move a bit, causing him to sit up on my bed. I stretched a little, looking over at him as I now laid down on my back.

"Me too, kid."

It stayed silent for a few seconds before Robin spoke up.

"Just go kiss your boyfriend or something, I'm trying to convince mom to let us eat pizza for dinner."

"Not my boyfriend, and thank you."

He stood up and walked out of the room, leaving me to my own misery.

Finally, I stood up and stretched one more time, putting on a bra before walking down the hall and stairs.

I heard voices, so I assumed my parents were just talking with each other, but what I saw was surprising.

My mother, my own blood, was actually talking to Jake, laughing to things he said that I couldn't quite hear.

Traitor.

"Oh, hey darling! Good morning," she chirped.

"Hi..."

"Hey, Lex."
