It was time for me and Kalin to go to the doctor's office. I didn't care anymore, about anything, about me, about life, my baby was dead and there's nothing I could do to fix it. I threw on a hoodie and sweats before we left for the doctor. "Everything is gonna be okay Alana," he said, holding my hand. "McCall!" The nurse called out, we followed her to the back and into the room. "So what's going on?" Doctor Sider asked "last night when I went to use the bathroom, there was blood on my tissue," I said, tears falling from my face. "Lets just do a sonogram before we assume anything," she said putting on gloves. I lifted my shirt before she rubbed the cold gel on my stomach, we all stared at the screen in anticipation. Suddenly you could hear 2 backbeats, one after the other, we all gasped. "You're...you're having twins, a boy and a girl" she said, I shed another tear, Kalin hugged me tightly "oh my gosh!" Was all I could get out. "Why? Why was there blood?" I asked "sometimes your body isn't used to not have your menstrual and you occasionally spot," she said. "Wow!" Kalin spoke up "you're gonna be a father of twins," she said to him. I wiped the tear from his face as he smiled "thank you so much Dr. Sider," I said giving her a hug. We both got in the car in silence, in shock. We turned to each other before connecting our lips "I love you," I said "I love you more," he said before pecking my lips again. My heart was racing, I thought I lost him, but it turns out I have another, I couldn't be more happy in this moment. "We definitely have to buy a house now," Kalin said, I laughed.
