Erica
"Why don't you come and get me? You'll just fall like the rest of them."
As soon as those words left my mouth, it didn't feel right but according to the bodies that I caused to be unconscious on the floor, it was the perfect thing to say.
Thirty Minutes Earlier
I was still out of it as I looked around the room. I was in a dark room sitting in a very high chair with only a single bulb above me. Beside me on a table, was a tray with utensils that only doctors would use. One tool that stood out to me was a syringe with a dark blue, almost purple liquid inside. I heard footsteps coming my way so I quickly grabbed the tube and tried to tuck it my bra without hurting myself because I was still wearing my high waisted skirt.
The rogues had heard my growl and rushed in to see what was going on. I hopped out the chair and tried to catch my balance because my legs were wobbly. For the first time I noticed I was barefoot. While I waited on them to make a move, I hurriedly tried to contact Alerick through the mind link but he blocked me out. My second option was Scott because I knew he would be with him unless he was hurt in the fight against the rogues. Fortunately for me, he answered and told me I had to find out where I was so they could rescue me.
"Scott!"
"Yes my Luna."
"Tell Alerick to wait."
"Wait for what?"
I didn't respond because the first rogue took a step towards me. My heart began to pound heavily. I only practiced hand to hand combat with Trisha. Over the course of two weeks, she taught me attack and defense but we never got to fighting in wolf form; that's what scared me the most.
"You are more powerful than you think." Zelena's voice reminded me.
The rogue placed his hand on my shoulder.
"I think you should come with us. He will be pleased to know you're awake."I looked at his filthy hand resting on me. "I'm not going anywhere with you."
"Oh? So you think you can take us all on?"
I grabbed his wrist and twisted it until I knew his carpals bones were broken. I saw in his face the pain he truly felt."Yes. Yes I do."
I pulled up my skirt so my legs could be more accessible and used his full arm to boost my weight up and swung my leg over his shoulder. I sat on his shoulders for less than a second before I snapped his neck leaving him unconscious. I turned quickly and send my knee into the rogue standing directly infront of me. While he was double over in pain, I sent my elbow down on his back. Just for extra measures, I lifted him by his shirt and pants and tossed him across the room. One by one I attacked the other three rogues in my way and tossed them into the corner creating a pile. I stood in the door way and looked out if anyone was coming.
I took off running down the hall and heard the patting of my feet on the tile and hoped no one else did. The needle in my shirt jabbed my skin and I cringed in silence hoping I could find the exit. I must of been running around in circle for about five minutes before I finally bumped into more rogues. They barred their teeth at me and I just smiled back.
"Why don't you come and get me? You'll just fall like the rest of them."
As soon as those words left my mouth, it didn't feel right but according to the bodies that I caused to be unconscious on the floor, it was the perfect thing to say.
I attacked them all with punches to the face and swift kicks and soon they were left in another pile on the floor. These rogues were pathetic. The only advantage is their amount. I took literally one step before his scent hit me.
Dion.
I switched the syringe from my bra to my hand hoping to have a chance to use it. I followed the scent without being interrupted by more rogues. Finally I walked into a room that was completely white. I sighed with relief and frustration.
"Now is not the time Zelena. I was so close...."
"So close to what?"
I slowly turned to my left and saw him. In the corner, he sat around a small table eating a meal. He looked so civilized with a knife and fork. I thought I was with the Moon Goddess but it looks like I would be spending a little time with a demon.
"And who is Zelena?" Dion asked me.
"Never mind that. What are you doing?" I asked causally while slipping my hand with the syringe behind my back.
"Eating dinner. Want to join me? One of my rogues will bring you a plate."
I chuckled. "I don't think they will be much service."
"Please. Join me." I pulled out a chair beside him and sat.
"Erica?"
"Hmm?"
"Be honest. What do you think about me being a King?"
I stared at him. He was serious. He still believed he could become King.
"You could of been a great King, if you had stayed true to yourself."
He dropped his utensils on the table."Now you are ruthless. You attacked your parents, the Pack that ensured that your family was kept safe and now you're going after your own twin brother. For what? For a title! For power!"
We stared at each other for a while and my hands began to get sweaty. I needed to use this now but I was curious.
"What do you think Dion? Do you believe you should become King? Do you think you should be trusted to handle the lives of everyone in the werewolf kingdom? Do you think everyone would forgive you and just move on?"
I felt tears in my eyes build up as I said this. He had hurt so many people. One tear slid down my cheek. Dion reached a hand towards me, as if to wipe it away, and I flinched from him. He placed his hand back on the table and sighed.
"Erica, I want my family back but it's too late. It's too late to be a normal family. It's too late for them to forgive me. It's too late to turn back so I have chosen to become selfish. I will fight whoever and forever to get what I deserve."
I nodded my head in understanding while tears slid down my cheek.
"I'm so sorry." I said."Erica? Sorry for what?" Dion asked confused.
I stuck the syringe in his arm and shook my head as more tears rolled down my cheek. I prayed to Zelena that it was just enough for me to get away and not kill him. He needed to fix things with his family.
"Wolf's bane." He whispered as he started to lose consciousness.
I shifted to wolf form inside the room knowing this was the only way for me to escape.
"Erica!" He screamed at me. I turned to look at him thinking he was going to say something along the lines of getting revenge but what he said surprised me. "Tell Alerick I'm sorry."
I nodded my Wolf's head and ran out the house creating a hole in the wall. When I turned back to look at it, I realized it was a good size shed in the middle of nowhere.
I just started running with no idea of where to go. I hoped I would reach a pack soon so they could help me.
I started to think of what Dion said before I left and thought I should tell Alerick as soon as possible. The last time I withheld information, it caused major problems.
"Alerick?" I asked through the mindlink.
"Yes my Queen?" He answered immediately.
"Dion says he's sorry."
