Chapter 16

Dave's POV

Me and Jade have been scouting the perimeter while Jake stays with my dead brother. I want to tell Jake that he's dead but Jade says that would just make him more sad or worse really pissed.

We walk for some time, talking, joking, smelling Jade's hair. Wait did I say that? I meant something entirely different moving on...

We turn a corner and Jade suddenly screams I turn to face her but when I do, she's up in the air being held by her long black hair. The person holding her made my blood boil. Brocifer.

"Why boy, what a nice catch you got here." He states as Jade screams more from her hair being pulled on. Brocifer then continues to speak. "Where in hell did you find her? Hmm? A pet shop? Those adorable little ears must have drawn you in." He lifts her to his face. She then spits straight into his eye. Brocifer starts laughing. "A fighter! Oh I will have so much fun with you." He spat.

"Let her go." I stand my ground and clench my fists ready to hit him right in the jaw.

"What did you say?" Brocifer growls.

"I said..." I take out my sword. "LET HER GO!"

Brocifer frowns but then grins. "Fine. Whatever you say. It's a shame she was such a pretty face." Brocifer gets to the top of the mansion and lets her drop, letting her plummet to the ground.

I try and make my way to get to her but Brocifer gets in front of me, past his head I can see the impossible swoop in and safely carry Jade down to the ground.

Then she stops in mid air. Me and Brocifer stop and look at each other. Green light envolopes my vision. When I can see again I see Jade, glowing and straight in front of Brocifer.

"You think you could just get rid of the pretty dog girl in a snap of you fingers, hmm? Well just to let you know 'Bro'." Her voice sounds completely different, deeper and echoish. She then swiftly grabs Brocifer's collar. "It's going to take a lot more to get rid of the Witch of Space." She then holds her hand out in front of her and Brocifer goes plummeting into the far off wall. I look at her in astonishment and a hint of fear.

She then looks over to me and her gaze softens. "Dave?" She says.

"Jade?" Tears start to run down her face.

"Dave! Dave I'm scared!" Her voice turns to normal and I fly over and hug her.

I hear crumbling of the wall and look over to see Brocifer get up and he looks pissed off to no end. I make sure I'm in front of Jade as he calmly walks over.

"And here I thought she'd be the next one dead." He gets closer and I prepare my sword.

"Take one more damn step and I'll cut your head off."

"Oh David you reeeally scare me." He laughs but then immediately shuts up.

He walks past me and Jade and then growls. "You've got to be fucking kidding me! You're still FUCKING ALIVE?! You really are a pain in my ass."

Jade and I draw our attention over to whom he's talking to and my jaw drops to the floor in disbelief. There before us stand a smirking Dirk and a pissed off Jake. Dirk looks at me and smiles. "Did you miss me?" He then focuses his gaze on Brocifer and his smile turns into a grimace. "We can talk after I take care of this pest."

"Pest? You better watch your mouth!"

Dirk rolls his eyes and then takes out his sword. "Jake make sure my shades are somewhere safe. I don't want them getting broken during the fight." Dirk reaches up to his face and then realizes he doesn't have them on, he looks confused for a minute and then shrugs. "Nevermind that then. Dave, take these two somewhere safe. I don't want to have to worry about them during this."
