"Get out of my head." The shadow man focused on me, but did not move at all. His hands rushed to his head and he growled deeply. His figure changed back to into the form of the butler.

I hissed and pushed back in the chair. I clawed the air and finally hid underneath the chair. Just being near the shadow man scared me. His glare was enough to burn my eyes.

The air was suddenly filled with a very high pitched sound. It sounded like screeching at first, but then it turned into a very loud scream. The noise quickly changed as the time passed on.  The sound burned my ears and just when I couldn't hear anymore, it departed.

The walls of the ballroom tembled and the lights along the wall shook untill it reached a dim gold.

"You're not doing anyone good, get out of my head!" The man stood up and glared at me. He dissapeared into the growing shadows on the walls. His sounds of pain was the only thing that gave the room its sound. He yelled out curse words and the walls would thump and tilt to match his pain.

"Alex!" I shouted facing forward not knowing where he was.

A shadow pulled off of the wall and sat in front of me. "You are not fit to call me that! You humani cat!" The walls mumbled in a low rumbiling tone of anger. The lights flickered in agreement.

"Who are you?" I whispered jolting forward. "You are not human, nor are you a figment."

The shadow rippled back into the form of the butler. "Little cat. I am telling you once more- Get. Out. Of. My. Head!" His hand grasped my neck and he held me in the air. His hand tightened as he shook me violently. "It hurts to have you here. Stop prying."

I gasped for air. I clawed Alex, but his grip was deadly. The room started to fade after a minuet in his grasp. "Al...ex."

He shook his head and looked into my eyes. "I gave up that name when I became this crreature." He sighed. "Good night little cat." He kissed my head and grabbed my body. In one smooth movement he turned his hands in opposite directions."Don't wake up ever again."

I never had a mother. Nor did I ever have a father I loved. Maybe...just maybe a long time ago I had one, but the earliest memory I have is one of me standing in the middle of the ballroom with a black cat. Alone.

Alone. In every memory of mine, I am always alone.

Except for Oliver.

He's the only friend I have. Truely the only one of my kind that has shown me kindness. Even with kindness, evil can hide.

Some call them secrets to benefit themselves or protect someone that the come to learn they don't even like. Others...others call them lies. In the short time of two weeks, I have been told and heard over than a hundred lies. Under all of this, I must be the one to find the truth.

The truth...it seems like a tiny star slowly flying away...It flies away and then comes back like a lost child. Only... a lost child that is so far away. A pitied child that became twisted and broken in his or her's own righteous quest. Manipulated to another's eyes.

Marcilo killed Renold.

Marcilo has Rayne.

Oliver is on the enemy's side.

Alex the Shadow is pure evil.

Gunther is alone.

Marcilo is alone.

So is Oliver.

All alone because of a knife.

"Why are we all alone...Rose? Rose, answer me...."

A woman in a red dress stared into the mirror before her gingerly. She ran her wrinkled fingers through her blond hair slowly while admiring herself closely.

Her lips moved, but no words came out. Silence filled the room, but the woman kept talking without sound. She pointed to a small toy house in the corner of the bedroom and clenched her hand. She shot up and turned around to a grey haired woman in a soiled, old, and tattered dress behined her.

In the mirror, the old woman turned to the small house and ran to it quickly. She dropped to her hands and knees parted the small double doors. She whispered something and stuck her hand in the house.

After a few seconds, the old woman pulled back and two well lit silver eyes glared at the two women of the room.

A low and angered purr was the only thing I heard.
