Lila sat in the hospital room, alone. The only people who had visited her had been Missy, Jace, Blake, Mamaw, Justin and one of Logan's crew, Ronnie. She'd hoped to see Logan but no; he hadn't turned up. Hadn't even replied to Lila's texts. She had herself to blame, she could have told him earlier. She could have phrased it better... couldn't she?

Apparently Justin had had 'words' with him. Lila had resented her brother for that but she could see that he meant well.

The hospital door creaked open and she looked to see who it was, hoping it was Logan. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

“Hey Ronnie.” She smiled. Ronnie had been visiting her a lot.

“Morning, Li. Mind if I join you?” He asked. Out of all of Logan's friends, she liked Ronnie the most. They all looked pretty scary (they were all muscle and looked tough!) but Ronnie was the friendliest out of them.

“No. I'm kind of bored here anyway.” Everyone was in school or busy tidying up their houses. It was almost Christmas and that gave Lila even more reason to be annoyed. She didn't want to spend Christmas in the hospital, well she didn't want to miss out on the celebrations... and she had.

“Ah. He's not turned up, has he?” In the week that Lila had been in the room, he hadn't turned up. Not once and no-one had any idea as to why.

“No. Got any films?” Lila asked changing the subject. She didn't want to talk about Logan. It hurt every time someone brought up his name.

Ronnie sighed. “Yeah. Seeming as it's Christmas in... twelve days, I've got some christmassy films. We've got... 'Elf', the 'Home Alones' – yeah all four before you ask – er, 'The Grinch', 'The Nightmare Before Chrismas'...” Ronnie trailed off.

“Give the bag here.” Lila asked, holding her hands out. Luckily, her arm had healed and she'd taken the cast off it. That was a relief; she'd found it so much easier to eat, write... well, do everything! Her leg had almost healed. Two more days, Doctor Reeves had said.

Lila flicked through the films. Ronnie hadn't lied, in fact all the films he'd brought over had some way of relating to Christmas.

“Home Alone. The first one. It's the best one out of them all.” Lila decided. She loved the Home Alone movies. She thought the pranks were genius... she had maybe tried a few of them on Justin and they hadn't ended well.

“First ones are always the best.”

“I know.” Lila agreed with Ronnie. She took the time to look at his appearance. She could admit that he was attractive, almost as attractive as Logan. His hair was a dark brown and was pretty short and choppy. His eyes were a smoky brown and could mesmerise anyone. If Lila didn't have Logan as a mate, she would have picked Ronnie to go out with.

Watching the film, Lila couldn't get comfortable. She just couldn't. The guilt came tunnelling back and she hated herself for it. She should have known that Logan wouldn't take the news as lightly as he would. She should've been careful!

“Cast irritating you?” Ronnie asked absentmindedly.

“That too.” Damn you, Ronnie. She cursed. Now she was aware of how itchy her leg had become. Her irritation 'factor' was staring to get dangerously high.

While Justin had a problem when his anger sky rocketed, Lila had a problem with irritation. Anything that irritated her, she couldn't stand. In the boarding school, when someone raked their nails on the chalkboard (yes, the boarding school still had chalkboards; no one knew why) she had to leave the room before she hit the person. When Lila got really irritated, she become violent and lashed out. It wasn't a good sight to see.
