Chapter Thirty

C H A P T E R T H I R T Y

            Logan sat outside the section of the pack house which was a hospital ward. Apparently no visitors were allowed – not even the Alpha or mates of the twins. Only doctors allowed. He was frustrated that he couldn't see Lila. He'd had to calm her down for the whole car journey down and then when she fell asleep, he had to make sure that when she woke she wasn't too frightened. Not knowing what was going on annoyed him. He needed to know Lila was okay.

            “Still not done?” Daniel came over and asked Logan, sitting beside him cautiously.

            “No.” Logan stared at the door. Maybe if he stared long enough, the door would magically break open?

            “Do you not think you should go get something to eat? Maybe sleep?” Daniel asked and Logan turned to glare at him.

            “They could be finished any minute. I'm not leaving her – I just got her back.”

            “I know. Wouldn't you rather let her see you in a less...” Daniel trailed off, thinking of the appropriate word. “Less of a state? I'm not being funny but you stink and you've got some blood covering you.”

            Logan looked down and scowled at the thought. The bastards had cut her and hit her and then drugged her on top of it all. If they hadn't been in such a rush to get out, he would've murdered all of them.

            The door opened carefully and Logan rushed to his feet, along with Daniel. They watched as the doctor quietly shut the door, making sure that it was closed.

            “Can we see them yet?” Daniel asked, before Logan could even move his mouth.

            “Maybe when they wake up – they're fragile. Especially Lila. We found traces of a drug which stopped her from being able to shift. Justin's alright, he's a bit weak but we've found several traces of drugs in him.” The doctor informed them both. He turned his attention to Logan. “If you want to see her, I'd advise you wash up. We don't know if anything could trigger her or if the hallucinations are still happening.”

            “Then can I see her?” Logan asked impatiently.

            “Yes.” The doctor sighed. “Just be careful. Anything could trigger her. Also, she'll need a lot of bed rest for a few weeks.”

            Logan nodded and speedily ran to his bedroom and had the quickest shower of his life. He wasn't taking any chances. Pulling on some fresh clothes, he raced back down to the room and opened the door carefully.

            Lying in one of the beds, was his beautiful mate. He slowly walked over to her, trying not to make any loud noises, and seated himself next to her. Slowly pushing the hair out of her face, he froze when she groaned. He didn't want to wake her up, she needed her sleep.

            “Logan?” Lila murmured, not wanting to open her eyes. She felt like a weight had been dumped on her. She didn't fancy wanting to see those hallucinations again. They terrified her. It was something she never wanted to relive again.
