Annabeth's POV
Love has the power to destroy you.
I've know that ever since I saw what it did to Thalia. Ever since then, I've seen that love can bring even the strongest to their knees.
Love makes you do things that you never knew you could do. Silena showed me that love can lead you to pain and suffering, much more cruel than what anyone would think.
Love makes you cast yourself in harms way just to protect someone. That's exactly what Bianca did to save her little brother, and it gave her years of torture. She has the scars to prove it.
Love can scar. Willow wanted Luke to love her, but he never did. So she turned cold and empty of the love she so desperately sought.
Love has the ability to take away all of your choices. You can't really choose which way to go when you're falling.
Love can break you in ways you never thought you could be broken. It can warp and change everything that you thought you believed in. It can change everyone that you believed in until they're gone.
But while love can hurt you, it can also heal. It's so strong, it can wash away all the pain from before. It can render you helpless, or it can give you enough strength to carry on. All that matters is that you trust enough in love, even after if hurts so much, you'll think you'll die just from the pain of it all.
Fairy tales have always given us a sense of a happily ever after that just falls right into your lap. But the only way to get there is to love, to fight, to hope, to climb, to build, to fall, to love. Love takes away your choices, but sometimes it's because it shows you the answer. And sometimes the only way you can get there is to trust enough in who and what you love.
There were thirty five girls. All of us came here, filled with dreams and hopes. Some of our dreams died along the way. And some of our hope faded. Those dead dreams and faded hopes formed a new version of us, one who saw firsthand exactly what love could do.
Now that there are only six of us left, love may take away all Percy's choices. Since the start, I know I've been one of them. I can only hope that I'm the answer.
A/N
This is the end.Actually it isn't, since there will be two books following this one, possibly more. I just want to thank each and every one of you who even bothered to read my story.
I started this a year ago, back when I didn't have a laptop. I typed the first half of this book on my phone (one of the reasons there are so many grammatical errors). It really means so much to me that all these people like this book.
My sequel is coming out and it's called "Waiting For You: Book Two of The Demigod Selection". Can't wait to continue this story with all of you!
And this is an edit I made of the epilogue. It's too big to have it all together, so I'm putting it in piece by piece.
