Nicole's POV

Did he just compliment me? I looked at him for a moment. "What did you say?"

"I said you're a great woman." Brian looked in my eyes.

"Well... Thank you.." I said sitting up straight and looked at my hands.

"Anytime." Brian patted my knee and stood up. He took the wine back to the fridge and put the glass in his sink.

I glanced at him then looked away. No, I can't get involved with clients. Though, this one did just open my eyes up to see that he's not so bad after all. He did have a sweet side. No! No, I can't and I won't. "You know I should be going..."

"Sit..." Brian said as he came back with a bottle of water. "Do you drink a lot of wine when you are a little stressed?"

I sighed as I took a mouthful of water. "It calms my nerves. Once I get really stressed I get real snappy...."

"If your job stresses you out that much, why do you do it?" Brian asked curiously.

"It's not the job it's the people. I don't like having to deal with someone's attitude when I'm just trying to do my job. Plus, on top of that I have to make sure the people deliver the right items I order..." I sighed again and took another mouthful of water. "I want wine..." I pouted as I rested my face in my hand.
