Castiel sat at the edge of the cliff... Looking at the beautiful view of the sunset in front of him... Hoping it would take his mind off everything that is happening. He wasn't suppose to feel this way, he wasn't suppose to have... Feelings.
It was wrong in every way, he's a soldier, he wasn't suppose to show anything that they could use as his weakness, but here he is, weak, sad... Alone.
"Father please come back" A tear slipped his eye and he didn't bother to wipe it, "Your creations need you... We need you... Please, we can't do this alone. We have a war to face, and only you can stop it. So many of my brethrens have died these past months, please come back, father, I am begging you have mercy on us your children" He was sobbing to this point.
"I made a promise to someone that I will guard their children, that I will not let them be harmed no mattet what and I failed. Father please, please..." His cheeks are bow stained with tears, he looked up at the sky with his ocean-blue eyes, hoping to see that bright light appear but there was nothing.
"Why did you leave? What did we do wrong father? What happened that you have to leave us for billions of years now? I know I have no right to question you because I am just your soldier but I want to know why" He wiped his tears with the sleeves of his coat and sighed, looking down at the waves beneath him.
"Is this all my fault? Was Hannah right all along? Am I really the one to blaim for all of this?" He looked up and noticed a bright light from above.
Father, you have returned.
He stood up and backed away as the light slowly casts itself down then reveals a man wearing something... Casual.
"Hello my son" He says with a smile on his face.
"Father" Castiel said, "Y--You're here"
"I apologize for leaving you all for too long, I did not mean to cause you any pain"
"Father, something is happening--"
"I know, that is why I cane back, after all these years" God said before looking behind him, at the beautiful view of the sunset, "I made all of these creatures out of love, I do not see what I did wrong" God has a frown on his face, thinking.
"It wasn't your fault, please do not blame yourself. Everything you have created is beautiful, these creatures... I know some are cruel, but some are nice, some are even willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good. You have done nothing wrong"
"Yes I have, Castiel" God faced Castiel, "I left without even telling any of you. I left you all by yourselves. I should've been here, guiding all of you, nurturing you, taking care of you"
"All of it doesn't matter now Father, You can fix all this... End this"
"You don't understand my son" He began, "It is not just this man we have to worry about"
"What do you mean Father?"
"The orb... It does not just give you power, it is a key"
"A key for what?" Castiel asked confused.
"A key to unlock the chains that kept darkness sealed. It has already been unlocked my son, and we are running out of time, she's here... Wandering around the planet in a vessel"
"Who, father?"
"The man all the angels are after, Damien Heatherson" Castiel clenched his fists in anger when he heard that man's name. He wanted to do nothing but smite him, but then looked at his father ,unclenching his fists when he remembered what his father said. Maybe it wasn't really him who was doing all this, maybe it was the darkness all along, or maybe they are both in it together.
"We must lock her up once again, making sure this time that she doesn't escape and that orb remains sealed." God explained, "We will lock her in this" He held his hand out and showed a clear ball of glass, "I have casted a spell on it, it can not be broken by anything. Let us hurry now, before it is too late"
