Chapter 29

Chapter 29- A sad ending!!

No,it couldn't be.

"Karina, Karina." I heard a voice saying. Turning around I came face to face with eve.

"Karina, stop them." She said. I looked to see josh tackled on the floor and Robert on top of him.

"ROBERT!" I screamed. He looked up as well as josh. I ran up to them and pushed Robert off, surprisingly he fell back. Everyone looked at me in astonishment. I quickly helped josh up and we backed all the way up to jake and eve. I was the only one who could touch Robert.

"Guys, let's leave." Said jake. He then ran to the window and pulled it open with all his might and it finally opened.

"Eve. You first." Said jake as he called eve to climb out quickly. She nodded and ran to him.

"Karina, come on." She said.

"You go first eve, I promise I will follow." She nodded and with that jumped out.

"Karina, you go now." Said josh. I nodded and got ready to climb out when someone stopped me.

"Not so fast." Said Robert as he clung on to me. "Get ready to be with me, Karina." With that he lifted his hand and I saw a shiny, silver knife. I stared at it and at Robert with wide eyes that held fear in them.

"JOSH!!" I yelled as I looked back. Josh looked at me.

"Karina." He yelled and said. "Jake, you and Eve leave and go call for help, now." With that jake nodded and ran out as josh ran towards me and Robert.

"Let. Her. Go." He said with clenched teeth.

"Let me see." Said Robert as he thought about it. "No!" With that he laughed.

Josh went for him when he wasn't looking and threw his knife away and pulled me away as Robert glared at him realising what happened.

"Give her back to me." He spat out.

"Never." With that josh pulled me back and stepped in front of me. "Karina, run away." I nodded and got ready to run when Robert came in front and said. "Stop right there. I have had enough of this little game you are playing. You are coming with me." He said as he moved closer. "How could you sleep with him? I thought you loved me?"

"Robert, I don't love you. Maybe I did in the olden times but I have now changed and my future is with josh not you." I said calmly.

"Never." He screeched. "You are mine and only mine, my past, present and future is you and only you."

"That might be for you but not for me." I said. Robert growled and then charged towards me with the knife in his hand.

"That's it, I will show you who you belong to?" With that he brought the knife down and I closed my eyes as I heard a scream of agony.

I looked up seeing as josh had pushed me out of the way.

"Josh!" I screamed. I ran to him and laid his head on my lap. "Baby, please wake up."

"Karina..." He mumbled.

"Josh, look at me, don't close your eyes." I said. He nodded. I found a cloth that was laying close by and wrapped it around his stomach.

"Wow, this is better. I kept my promise and now I can kill you and live happily or I can take his place here on earth, if he...dies." He said darkly. I glared at Robert. Then an idea popped in my head, if I was the only one who could touch him maybe if I took the knife off him I could finish him once and for all. As I heard josh moan in pain behind me, I put my plan into drive.

"Robert," I said as I walked towards him. "I'm ready to come with you." He looked at me shocked and then smiled after a bit his eyes shining with pride.

"See, I knew you would come in your senses." I smiled and then hugged him. He happily accepted it and hugged me back. Slowly, I trailed my hands behind his back and found the handle of the knife, I smiled as I slowly drew it out and brought it to the front.

"I'm sorry." I said as I pulled a bit back. Robert looked at me with confused eyes. I then stabbed him in the stomach. He gasped and looked at me with hurt in his eyes.

"Why..." I pulled the knife back out and stabbed him again and then pushed him back after pulling it out again.

"Go.to. Hell!!" With that he vanished and was gone forever.

"Agh!!!" I turned as I remember josh and ran to him.

"Josh, I'm here baby. Everything is ok again, just stay with me help is on its way."

*After an hour*

The paramedics came with the police and jake and eve accompanied them.

We made some story up about the house getting burgled and the burglar stabbed josh and ran away. They took josh away and put an oxygen mask on him. Jake went with him as me and eve stayed to give the statement. After giving the statement, me and Eve walked to her car and got ready to drive to the hospital where josh was.

I looked at the house for one last time that had caused so many problems for me and finally would never do that again.

We arrived at the hospital and walked inside, jake had gave us the instructions on where to go to find him. I ran down the hallway as I spotted jake.

"How is he?" I asked as eve stopped besides me.

"He's losing a lot of blood and they say he might not make it." I dropped to the floor. He had to make it, he just had to.

"Excuse me." Said the doctor. I quickly got up and ran to him.

"Doctor, is josh ok?" I asked.

"He is ok at the moment, we will move him to the ICU and you can meet him one at a time then." I nodded and smiled.

"Thank you." I then saw them take josh away to the ICU. Me, eve and jake followed behind.

"You should see him first." Said eve. I nodded and took a deep breath before I walked inside.

I looked to see josh pale. He didn't have a t-shirt on and his stomach was wrapped in a bandage that had a blood mark on it, tubes were attached to him from everywhere and he also had a oxygen mask on to help him breathe.

"Josh." I said as I sat beside the bed on a chair. He slowly opened his eyes and looked at me.

"Hey." I said. He gave me a small smile and closed his eyes. A tear fell out of his eye as he reached for my hand but failed. I cried myself and reached for it holding on to it and placing kisses on the back of his hand.

With the other hand, he removed the mask slowly and gasped.

"Josh, why did you move it?" I asked.

"Karina...I know....I'm...not going to...make it." He said as he gasped and tightened his eyes closed.

"No, you will don't say that." I said as I sobbed uncontrollably.

"Please Karina, live life for me. Remember I will always be watching over you as a star and a angel. Marry someone, make babies and watch them grown and settle down as well. I...I...won't be able...to live knowing you are....broken. Please...do it for me. Although, I will be gone from the world, for you I will always be here." He said as he placed his hand on my heart. I smiled. "I love you, forever and always." With that he closed his eyes and the heart machine beeped.

"Josh." I said. "Josh, wake up, please." I looked down to see that his hand had fallen down and was no longer on my heart.

"No, josh don't leave me, please." I kept chanting as I sobbed uncontrollably. Eve and jake walked in and cried as they realised josh was dead. Eve came up to me and tried to calm me down and jake called a doctor.

"I'm sorry," He said after checking him. "He's dead." With that he walked out after patting jake on the back as a way to show remorse and left as we all sobbed at the loss of a friend and my first love.
