✦ Connor ✦
A few days after Will's episode, Connor headed back to Will's apartment. He wanted to hang out and just be around Will. He had a handful of some of Will's favorite flowers and a couple of movies he hoped Will would like.
After knocking on the door and ignoring Apollo's looks, he headed to Will's room, knocking softly on the door before walking in. Will was at his desk, probably doing homework. He turned to look at Connor as he walked in, a soft smile settled onto his features.
"Hey," Connor said, handing Will the flowers, who took them with flushed cheeks and put them in an empty vase, before filling it up with water from a bottle on Will's bedside table. He sat next to Will and pressed a kiss to his temple, before looking at the worksheet in front of him. "What's this?"
"I'm supposed to analyze this text but it's dumb and I don't get it. Like, one of the questions was: 'Why were the flowers in the vase blue? What does this infer about the author?' Like it means the flowers were fucking blue and it infers he had blue flowers. I'm so done."
Connor chuckled and wrapped an arm around Will's waist, feeling the boy scoot closer to him.
"Who needs to do homework?" Will asked, before turning to Connor, a smile on his face.
"I brought movies," Connor said.
"Awesome."
Will shot up and plopped into his bed, looking through the movie selection.
"No horror?" he asked, before looking up at Connor's eyes. "Yeah, I get it. You don't want me to see blood, blah blah blah," he muttered almost bitterly, before a smile reached across his face. "You brought Hercules?"
"I also brought Alexander the Great, which is like, the best movie of all time," Connor said, grinning as he sat next to Will.
"Let's watch it."
Connor put it in Will's DVD player, before sitting next to him as it started. Will curled up to Connor, burying his face into Connor's chest. A little bit through the movie, Will turned to the brunette.
"Connor?"
"Yeah?" Connor asked, looking at Will.
The blonde leaned up until their lips met. Connor's stomach swarmed with butterflies, before he reached over and cupped Will's cheek with his hand, kissing him back softly. Will deepened the kiss, before he straddled Connor's waist, slightly taking the brunette off guard. He hesitated, but Will made sure their lips stayed connected as his hands roamed Connor's chest.
Will's lips left his as he made a trail of kisses down Connor's jaw and neck. They were sweet yet dirty at the same time.
Desire pooled in Connor's gut. He wanted this. He wanted Will.
But something wasn't right.
"Will," Connor breathed out, pushing the boy away from him slightly.
"What?" Will asked, sounding like a disheartened child. His eyes were distant, and Connor knew exactly what was going on. "Do you not want me?"
"I do, baby, I do..." Connor assured, placing a hand on Will's cheek. The blonde leaned into his touch, his eyes fluttering closed. "But this isn't you."
"It is me! See?" Will asked desperately, grabbing Connor's hand and placing it on his chest. Connor could feel Will's pulse thrumming against his fingertips. Will's eyes met Connor's as he suddenly got angry. "You don't want me. I'm not good enough, huh?"
"No, Will-"
Will got off of him and stood up. He paced the room, tangling his fingers in his hair.
"I'm not good enough. I'm never good enough."
Connor got up and walked over to Will, taking his hands and slowly pulling them from his hair. Will looked up at him sadly.
"I'm not good enough," he whimpered.
"No, don't say that. You are good enough, okay-"
"You don't want me! It's because I'm not good enough. There's someone better, isn't there?!"
"No, Will, there's not. I only want you, but you're not ready for...for that. I'm not ready for it, either."
"For sex? You can't prove to me that you want me?"
Connor pressed a soft kiss against Will's lips as he cradled the blonde's face with his hands.
"I do want you, okay? I want to hold you and kiss you and make you mine, but I don't want to do something that big until we know we're ready."
"Get out."
"What?"
"I said get out!" Will cried angrily, pulling himself from Connor's grasp. "I'm broken, okay?! I'm fucking broken and you're gonna hurt yourself if you're around me!"
"Baby-"
"Don't do that!" Will yelled. "Stop doing that," his voice fell and he wrapped his arms around himself, staring at the floor.
Apollo and Hyacinth entered the room.
"What's all the yelling about?" Apollo asked, before he turned to Connor. Suddenly, Will shut down, his eyes avoiding everyone's and his mouth staying shut.
"We were just - just watching a movie and then-" Connor started, before Hyacinth grabbed his arm.
"I think you should go," he said coldly, sending shivers - and not the good kind - down Connor's spine.
"But I-"
"Go home, Connor."
Connor sighed and pulled away from the man's grasp, before leaving. Right before he left the room, he looked towards Will, who's arms were still wrapped around himself, his eyes casted to the ground. Connor felt a lump rise in his throat, before he left the apartment, sitting in his brothers car. He didn't start it.
"Fuck!" he cried out, hitting the steering wheel. He was angry. Angry at Hyacinth for asking him to leave, angry at Apollo for the dirty looks and cold stares.
And he was angry at Will.
How dare Will think that Connor doesn't want him with every fiber of his being? Connor doesn't want anything more, but he can't do anything about it, because Will's broken. He's broken and hurt and depressed and fuck - when did it get like this?
