Colors {Stollace} Chapter Two This Home Isn't Home

"It's been a long time since I've felt right. This home isn't home to me." Citizen Detatched

✦ Will ✦

Will organized the stuff in his father's cabinets, since the lazy school nurse didn't do it himself. A knock at the open door caused Will and his father to look at who was standing there.

Nico di Angelo, Will's ex and best friend, stood next to Leo Valdez, Will's other best friend.

"Hey, wanna hang out?" Nico asked and Will looked down at the supplies strewn across the counter.

"Gimme a sec," Will murmured and quickly organized the stuff, throwing it into the cabinets and bidding his father farewell as he followed his two friends out of the office and down the hallway. They stopped at Will's locker so he could put his backpack up and grab his drawstring (since his weird high school didn't allow backpacks.) As soon as Will was finished, they walked outside where the picnic tables were.

"Did you hear about what happened to Percy and Annabeth?" Nico asked as they sat down. Will shook his head and absentmindedly played with the bandage around his wrist. "Apparently, Percy broke up with her and came out as bi." The excitement in Nico's voice was not a figment of Will's imagination as he had hoped. Though him and Nico broke up months ago, it still hurt like hell, because Will had loved the boy with all he had.

"Nico, I'm so excited for you!" Leo exclaimed, hugging Nico excitedly.

"Why?"

"Because now you have a chance."

"Any progress on Jason Grace?" Nico quickly changed the topic, catching Will's eyes, before looking away. Leo huffed.

"No, he's so ignorant."

As Nico and Leo continued talking, Will took a long, hard look at them. Nico was paler than what was considered healthy for an Italian, but he was slowly regaining his color as his friends forced him to go outside. He had dark eyes rimmed with dark, thick lashes. His black hair always hung in his face, and he always wore a black shirt and an aviators jacket. Leo, on the other hand, was dark in complexion, considering he was of Latino descent, and had dark chocolate eyes and curly black hair that was always wild. He also had elfish ears and a slim, petite nose. The similarities between Nico and Leo were quite scary. They both had naturally dark skin, hair and eyes, and both had the same sadness hidden behind their masks. Also, Nico had a slight Italian accent that was noticeable when he yelled. Leo had a prominent Spanish one, and often blended the English and Spanish languages together when he spoke - especially when he was excited or talking fast.

They were quite different though. Leo was bubbly and outgoing, always cracking jokes, whereas Nico was shy and quiet, normally hidden in the shadows or away from people. Leo was friendly; Nico preferred to stay away from humans, except his very few friends.

"I heard the Stoll's are going to pull a prank on Clarisse la Rue today," Leo said mischievously and Will rolled his eyes.

"Idiots," he mumbled. "She's going to skin them alive."

"It'll be fun to watch, though," Leo grinned and Nico rolled his eyes dramatically.

"You're a sadist," Nico commented, before flinching as the first bell rang, signaling that students should be heading to their first class. "Ugh, hell is starting."

They all got up and Will waved goodbye as he headed to his Algebra class, where he sat against the wall, near a window. He sat his bag down on the ground next to him and pulled out his Algebra journal, beginning the bell work on the board. He heard girls whispering about him and his father and boys whispering about the prank the Stolls were going to play.

This is going to be a long first period.

✦✦✦

His second period was spent with his father in the infirmary, where he finished organizing his father's supplies. Right as he put the bandages away, a beaten up Connor Stoll was sat in one of the "waiting" chairs as his dad liked to call them. Will looked around, noting that his father was nowhere to be seen. Figures.

Will looked at Connor and Connor looked at Will, an unwanted awkwardness between the two.

"Look at the mess you've gotten yourself into," Will commented, grabbing the necessary items to tend to Connor's wounds. Once he was finished, he moved Connor to the "working station" (his dad's words) and set the items on the small table next to the bed-ish type thing. "How'd you think that prank was going to work for you?" Will asked as he moved Connor's curly brown hair out of his face to inspect his forehead.

"Not like it did."

Will used a disinfectant wipe to clear the cut running across Connor's eyebrow, causing the latter to flinch. Clarisse had definitely beat the shit out of Connor. He had a busted lip and eyebrow, a cut on his cheek that was beginning to bruise and one across the bridge of his nose as well. Will used a gentle hand, cleaning the wounds first with a wipe, then with a disinfectant spray, just to be safe. Will went to put a butterfly bandage over the cut on Connor's eyebrow, when the boy stopped him.

"I don't want band aids."

"They'll get infected," Will argued. Connor smirked, his blue eyes alight.

"Then I guess I'll just have to come back and see you tomorrow, then."

Was Connor Stoll flirting with him?

No. Wow, Will, you're so conceited. Add that to another thing that's similar between you and your dad.

Will couldn't help but to blush, but quickly turned away, busying himself with tidying up his supplies. He quickly moved to put them back into the cabinet, throwing away what he already used.

"What lunch period do you have?" Connor asked and Will searched his dad's desk for a back-to-class note. No, wait, he needed to call Connor's parents first and tell them what happened. Ugh, where was his father?

"B," Will murmured, sitting in his father's rolly-chair and turning to look at Connor.

"Really? I've never seen you."

"I spend it in the infirmary," Will informed, causing Connor's eyebrows to raise.

"Do you spend a lot of time in the infirmary?" Connor asked, kicking his feet back and forth.

"It's like a second home."

"Oh, cool," Connor said, biting his lip, before wincing. "Would you like to eat lunch with my friends and I?"

Will blushed again and turned away. Right then, Apollo walked in, apologizing to Connor and Will for leaving.

"Oh...I see Will already cleaned you up," he commented, before sighing. "The office called your mom, she's allowing you to stay for the rest of the day, but tomorrow, you, Travis and Clarisse have ISS."

Connor shrugged. "Won't be my first time. Thanks, Will," he mumbled as Apollo hurriedly filled out a back-to-class note, handing it to him as he walked out of the infirmary.

"He's an idiot," Will commented right as Connor was out of earshot.

"I think he likes you."
