Illusions of love

~New Orleans part 2~

•Vanessa POV•

It was Mardi Gras, so the streets were flooded with celebrators.

"Rhodes has a tracker just like Daniels! He knows where we are going right now!" I told Jack.

"What how do you know?" Jack said. He was running out of breath, and so was I. But we kept running.

"I saw it. During the show!" I said.

"Give me your wristband," he said. I struggled to take it off while running, but it eventually came off. We ran a few more seconds before i found an alley.

"Stay here," Jack told me, and then ran off. There was a door way so i stood in it, to where no one could see me.

•Jack POV•

I took her wristband and also grabbed Henleys,Merrits, and Daniels right where they said they would leave them. I tore off my suit, exposing my police outfit. I ran for about a minute, until I found Rhodes desperately looking around for us. I ran up to him and stuck the trackers in his pocket.

"Hey, I need your-" he said.

"HEY!" he said again. He realized it was me but not until i was able to get far enough into the crowd where he lost me. I tore off my police suit exposing yet another, but lighter, tux. I ran back to the alley where Vanessa was, grabbed her hand while still running and took off.

"Where did you go?" Vanessa yelled trying to catch up with her feet.

"I took care of everything, we only have to run for a few more minutes." We ran down until we stopped.

"Uh, Jack this isn't where we are suppose to be! We have to get to the pla-" she said. I kissed her to stop her and told her to follow me. We stopped when we reached the restaurant.

"Hey, I told you i'd make time," I said with a wink.

"Aw Jack!! But, look at me i'm a hot mess! My sandals are scuffed up, i'm all sweaty, my lipstick is smeared," she said.

"Hey, you look gorgeous," I said bringing her closer to me. I licked my fingers and fixed her smeared lipstick. I gave her a kiss on the cheek and we walked into the restaurant.

"2 for Wilder," I said.

"How long have you had this reservation?" she asked looking around.

"Since we first met." She looked at me with no expression and then I laughed.

"What if we didn't go on this date," she told me smirking.

"Then that would've been a waste of a perfect table for 2," I said. We sat down and finally had our first date. It was so perfect it couldn't have gone better. After an hour I asked for the check and told her we should get going.

"OMG! The plane Jack we missed it! I can't believe they would just leave us without shooting us a text," she said checking her phone.

"Hey Vanessa, don't worry they knew I would be doing this and we got the plane to leave 2 hours after it was supposed to. But we do have to go like now," I said. I paid in cash and left with her. We met Daniel, Henley, and Merrit on the plane.

"Vanessa," I said sitting down on the plane with her.

"Yea?" she asked, starting to fall asleep on my shoulder.

"You know I love you so much, and I really do want to spend the rest of my life with you." She picked up her head from my shoulder and looked at me.

"Why don't we move in with eachother? I asked. She didn't say anything for a few seconds, but just stared at me.

"Jack," she said. I got a little nervous.

"I would love that," she said smiling. I gave her a long kiss.

"We can move into my place,tomorrow," she said. We both lived in New York, and that's where our next stop was, so it was an easy fit.

"I love you," she said.

"I love you more," I said. "I have to go to the bathroom i'll be right back. I got up and started walking to the back of the plane.

"Hey Jack, me and Daniel were just talking. Why don't we all have a boys night out this Friday!" Merrit said.

"Aw man, I don't know. I'm moving in with Vanessa and i'm not sure if i'll have time and-" I said.

"Wait, since when are you and Vanessa moving in together?" Daniel asked.

"Since 5 minutes ago," I said with a smile.

"Come on Jack, it's Wednesday, you and Vanessa will have at least 1 day to get settled in, plus Friday morning," Merrit said.

"Fine," I said. I went to the bathroom and came back. Vanessa was already asleep. I opened up my phone and saw a text,

Jack Wilder, Merrit Mckinney, Henley Reeves, and Daniel Atlas. Emergency meeting tomorrow morning. NO VANESSA. ~ Anonymous.

I knew it was from the eye. I grabbed Vanessa's phone to see if she got the text. Nope. I looked back at Daniel, Merrit, and Henley. They all nodded their heads. I didn't know where I was going or why but I needed to be there. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
