Illusions of love

~The next instructions~

•Jack POV•

I woke up the next morning, Vanessa still sleeping. I rubbed my eyes and checked my phone. 9:14 am. I had another text.

9:35 am sharp, usual place. ~ Anonymous

"Oh crap," I said. I quietly got up, put on my shirt, shoes, and left. I ran to a taxi and hopped in.

"45 East Evan St," I told the driver. I felt bad about leaving Vanessa like that, but I couldn't let her find out I was going to an Eye meeting. Suddenly, my phone vibrated.

"Hey, where'd you go?"  It was from Vanessa.

"Hey babe, goodmorning. I'm sorry I left so early I wanted to go grab all my stuff from my apartment."

I mean I wasn't lying. I was going to get my stuff after.

"See you in a bit :3 xoxo," she said.

It was 9:34. I got out of the taxi and ran up to the 2nd floor. Henley, Daniel, and Merrit were already there. They turned to look at me as soon as I walked in.

"Nice of you to show up," Daniel said turning back around.

After i closed the door, a hologram appeared in the middle of the room. A deep raspy voice started speaking.

"Hello Jack, Daniel, Merrit, and Henley. You are all probably wondering why Vanessa couldn't come. She must not find out about this. If any one of you tell her, you're out of the group...Now onto your next project..."

~10 minutes later~

"Hey don't worry Jack everything will be fine," Henley said rubbing my back.

"I can't do this," I said standing up. Tears were starting to roll down my face.

"Jack if you don't do this, you're risking all of our lives and freedom. Including Vanessa. This is going to happen, Its a full proof plan," Daniel said picking up his bag.

"Fine," I said wiping my tears. I could feel more coming but I held them back.

"We're still on for tomorrow too, in fact it might help to not think about this," Merrit said. Then he, Daniel and Henley all walked out. I was the last to leave because i had to look over everything again. I grabbed my bag, locked the door, and walked back to my apartment. I called Vanessa to let her know I was coming.

"Hey, i'm coming over in about 30 I just have to pack the rest of my stuff, and return my key."

"Okay Jack, I love you see you soon bye."

"I love you so much more." She hung up by accident, before i could finish. I unlocked my door and walked into my old dirty apartment. I wish i had a better one but it was all i could afford, then. I grabbed some boxes i kept in my closet and opened them. I put clothes in one, little things in another, and random things in the 3rd. I didnt take much furniture because she already had some, and besides its a New York apartment there's not much room. All I took was my dresser and nightstand. I called a small moving truck and put in all of my things. I pulled out my phone and texted Vanessa.

"Hey, on my way ;)" I texted her.

"Great :) see you then xoxo."

When i got there, I brought up all my stuff and knocked on her door.

"Hey!" she said opening the door and hugging me. I gave her a kiss and walked in. Her apartment was nice and had a great view of Manhattan.

"I'm so excited. About everything! Come on lets move your stuff," she said.

After about 2 hours we got everything settled in and threw ourselves onto the couch and sighed.

"Come here," I said pulling Vanessa closer to me. She laughed and sat on my lap, a leg on each side of my legs. We started kissing for a long time, pretty much a make out. She pulled away to speak.

"Movie and pizza?" she asked.

I bit my lip, "yeahhhh."

We put on our shoes and headed out to get the pizza. We decided to just watch a Netflix movie instead of renting one.

When we got home we layed down on the couch and put a blanket over us. We decided to watch 'Grease' because you can never go wrong with a 70's romance. We both loved 70's and 80's flicks. We started singing.

"But uh-oh those summer nights..." we sang together while laughing. Then my phone vibrated making me jump a little. I pulled out my phone.

"Don't forget the plan. Don't let anything or anyone distract you."

I knew who it was. My smile quickly turned into a frown. Vanessa picked her head up off my chest.

"Who texted you? What's wrong?" she asked.

I deleted the text thread quickly without responding. "Oh, no one just an email," I said. "Dont worry about it," I said smilimg.

She nodded her head and layed back down on my stomach. My smile turned back into a frown. Why me? Why not Merrit or Daniel or Henley? I kissed Vanessa on the cheek.

"Never let me go," I whispered in her ear.

And with that I fell asleep.
