Illusions of love

~Introduction~

•Vanessa POV•

I had gotten into magic when i was in 7th grade when i went out with my friends to see street magicians in Times Square. Since then i have been in LOVE with close up magic. Now, I know every trick, in every book.

"Smh, classic card tricks," I said rolling my eyes and walking away from the medium-sized crowd on the street watching a magician do magic tricks. I walked a few blocks down in Times square and started my own tricks. Quickly, i got a huge crowd. I did oldies but goodies. My trick was making peoples wallets and watches and jewelry "disappear" from their pockets into, you guessed it, my pockets. I normally sold the valuables to pawn shops. I wasn't proud of it, but i needed the money. I was very quick and sneaky so when people chased me, which was about 99% of the time, i was able to get away with no traces. Tonight i did okay. About $200 and 3 Rolex watches. I do better on other days but Tuesday nights are pretty dead. After i ran a few blocks, I started to walk the dark empty streets back to my apartment. I will admit it gets very lonely being in the city alone. I don't have a boyfriend. I'd gone on dates with a few guys but they weren't too "thrilled" about the magic stuff i did, so it was hard to find a guy who appreciated it. As i was walking, a man with a hoodie bumped into me hard enough, i almost fell.

"Hey watch it!!" I yelled, but he kept walking. When i stuck my hands in my jacket i felt a playing card. No, not a playing card a Tarot card. On the front it had a picture of a lady with a magic ball and it said "Young Goddess." On the back it had a place, a date, a time, and an eye.
