Chapter 23

*Erika's POV*

It was almost midnight and Zach haven't called or texted me after I left the hospital.

I ordered some Chinese take-away and sat in the living room watching Netflix.

Halfway through the movie, I heard a knock on the door and I went there rushing hoping that it's Zach.

I slowly open the door and peeked outside. It was Jack's mum.

"Erika, I need to talk to you if you don't mind" she said.

"Sure...come in"I looked at her worried expression and gestured my hand to make a way for her to come inside.

She sat on the opposite chair that I was sitting on. She looked around the house and released a big breath.

"What can I help you with?" I asked.

"Oh..well, I don't know how to actually say this but..but" she stuttered.

"Oh, Umm take your time. I've got all day" I looked around the house and gazed at the clock. "Oh umm actually, I need to ask you something, if you don't mind of course?"

"Sure..go on hunny"

"Well..earlier today,at the hospital, Jack called Zach his bro... What did he actually mean? What was he trying to say?"

Her hand was shaking and her face turned peach,pale. "That's what I'm actually here to tell you, I don't know how else I should say this. It's quite complicated" she looked straight into my eyes.

"Go on" I fiddled with my finger.

"Well..where do I start? Ok look.." she leans closer. "So basically, Zach and Jack are brothers."

"Whoa! Hold up" I scratched my hair. "This is crazy....nonoono no wayyy"

"Its true" she interrupted "I only had 2 child, Zach and Jack and when they were only about 3 years old, my husband decided to break up with me because he said he had found someone new, someone better looking" she sobbed.

"Awe..its ok. I think you're nice" I cheered her up.

"So..when he left, he took Zach away from me and from that day on, I never seen Zach or my him."

I raised my eyebrows at her and think it through my head...Jack was Zach's brother?

Shit!

"That's why when Jack called Zach his bro I was shocked too" she continued. "After i got home, I quickly drove to the school and looked through his files and its true...he's my son.But before I left the hospital, I saw my ex husband there talking to someone, I couldn't really see whom it was.I've always wanted to see Zach, but I never got the chance"

"Does Zach knows?"

She shook her head "I'm afraid not"

"Well..I'm sure he would want to see you..I promise" I gave her a big smile.

She gave me a big smile and hugged me "Thank you Erika" she said and left the house.

I rested my back on the chair, feeling confused. Well, yes I know that Zach was older than Jack. They had the same eye color but different hair color. Jack's is blonde and Zach's was brown. But them? Brothers?

Hell no!

There's nothing wrong with them being brothers, its just that..it's them. Ya know?

"Fuckkkkk!" I screamed and run my fingers through my hair.
