This time of trouble leaves my heart in fear
To be a black man now is its own cursing
I can't help but to think of my own brothers
Knowing they could be the next, Alton SterlingLord, save my brothers
Keep them safe in your arms
Send them a daily angel
Tell them when they're in danger
Be their internal alarmsLord, I pray for justice
I pray for peace
I pray that every man in my life
Can one day live life with easeThis "fear" the white police claim to possess
This fear doesn't seem to run in their chest
This fear dominates the finger that pulls the trigger
These policemen are setting for their sons a figureY'all killing our people everyday
You're making yourselves more fearful
Just building up all the rage
Making our families tearfulLord, please save my brothers
From the increasing police brutality
Being black in America is the cause
No "fear" can create this fatalityRest In Peace Alton Sterling.
I send love to your family.
