Always There

Do you have someone that's always there
Always has your back
Do you have that special person that you can always talk to
Ask them unfiltered questions
They'd do what no one else would do

They care for you more than anything
You don't even have to question their love
Because it emits through their smile, their actions, their eyes, and their soul

When you talk to them they can take on all forms
They understand you like a friend
They will guide you like a father
They will love you to the end
And they will care like a mother

Your conversations can last long
Because you both are genuine in that way
They can tell when you are down
There's nothing you have to say

You don't even have to tell them
Because they know you how they know them
They feel your pain
And do whatever they can to take it away

You're valuable in their eyes
They want what's best for you
They want to see you succeed and be happy
They want to see you accomplish your goals
And become whoever you want to be

You're time with them is precious
Because life itself is short
So enjoy the time you have together
Take it for what it's worth

Whoever was in your mind
As you read down these lines
Tell them that you love them
Or tell them that you forgive them

Personally, I have to see mine consistently
The one who shows love and comfort to me
Whenever I speak of him I feel great honor
