I could see Lachlan being carried in front of me but he seemed to have given up trying to fight. I was being kicked in the back of my leg every now and again to keep me moving. I spent the whole time trying not to trip over my own feet or fall asleep while I was walking. Just in front of me the guy carrying Lachlan dropped him onto the floor with a crash and my eyes widened as he sprawled on the floor groaning in pain.
The man bent back down again and picked him up again and Lachlan seemed to accept that he wasn't going to win if he tried to fight so he let the man pick him up with no struggle. A door was opened to our left and Lachlan was shoved into it and the door slammed behind him. My eyes widened as the door in front of it was opened and I was pushed into it. I quickly observed the room and noticed it was completely blank except for one of the walls, which was completely made of glass but through the glass I could see Lachlan curled up on the floor.
I ran over to the window and banged on the glass and he raised his head to look at me, but he let his head drop again. I immediately started to worry until I saw the blood that was seeping through the bandage around his neck explain his lack of concentration and his unfocused eyes. As the blood started to leak down his neck and onto his t-shirt I started to bang on the glass even more furiously, nervous that the blood loss might have more long lasting damage.
The glass started to retract in front of me and as soon as there was a big enough gap I crawled through it and rushed over to Lachlan. He blinked up at me when I touched his head but eyes were still not focusing on anything and they were unusually glassy and glazed over. I pulled my sweatshirt off and then my t-shirt and put my sweatshirt back over top, using the t-shirt as a makeshift bandage.
I pulled him into my lap and leaned up against the wall, thinking over everything that had happened to us over the last day and a bit. As I did so I could feel my eyes closing and without anything more I drifted off to sleep.
(Like a 3 hour time skip? Something along those lines.)
I felt a hand around my neck and I opened my eyes, trying at once to get away. "You move and he gets shot, do you understand me?" I looked across at the voice to see them holding an unconscious Lachlan by his t-shirt and a gun pointed at his head. I froze and then felt someone drag me across the room by my arms dropping me against the opposite wall. I turned around again to see Lachlan being chained to the wall by his ankle and then felt a chain around mine. As soon as the person putting the chain on me had moved I started to tug on it with my hands until someone grabbed my throat from behind and someone else chained my wrists to the wall above me. They released my throat and I slumped forwards against the wall, my back now to the room and to Lachlan. There were footsteps behind me and I froze but when the person moved away I started to struggle and pull on the restraints again.
I screamed as something hit my back with a sharp crack and I curled forwards trying to move away from the thing and the person. There was another sharp crack and I cried out in desperation and pain, pulling on the chains but they wouldn't budge. This pattern followed for at least an hour and eventually I ran out of energy to scream or pull on the chains and I just listened to the cracking across my back. Every time there was a crack it was followed by a searing pain and eventually I lost all will to fight and just closed my eyes only focusing on breathing.
My sweatshirt was in shreds and although it had protected me at the start it was now unusable. It was a while before I noticed that the cracks had stopped and all I could feel was pain. I collapsed onto my side and it was only then did I feel the blood dripping down my back. I knew that it had been a whip making the cracks and that I was losing too much blood to stay conscious for long.
There was a scream from across the room, a weak scream, but it was a scream of pain and I knew that Lachlan was conscious and he was getting the same treatment as I did. There was several minutes of silence from everything before there was a crack louder than anything I had heard before and the sound of splattering blood. I was extremely glad that I couldn't see what was happening and then another quiet scream, but filled with more pain than before. My brain started to fade and as I let myself black out I heard one last desperate scream of pain from Lachlan before nothing overtook me.
Lachlan's POV.
I whimpered into my arms, trying not the scream out for Rob as I was forced to watch a man in black continuously hit his back with the whip. He was slumped to the side and there was blood completely covering his back and also parts of the floor. The bandages on my neck had been pulled off and the wound had started to bleed for the release of pressure from the bandages.
The man holding my head up dropped me suddenly and I gasped, my neck snapping sideways and opening the wound again. I cowered onto the ground as the man with the now bloody whip approached me and raised his arm threateningly and let the whip fall into my view; still clutching it into his hand. He thrust his arm forwards and it hit my shoulder painfully hard. I let out a quiet scream but as the wound on my neck continued to bleed my vision started to go white and I slumped sideways, closing my eyes again.
Rob's POV.
"Rob?" I didn't reply or open my eyes, letting my brain start up before I did anything. "Lachlan? Rob? Are they okay?" There was shuffling before Jay spoke. "Rob's waking up. He can hear us but I don't think he wants to move." I admired the seemingly unfaultable logic of the girl and knew that most of it had probably come from past experiences. There was something placed on my back and I gasped before feeling total relief from the sharp pains I was feeling. I opened my eyes to find myself staring at the floor and when I turned my head sideway I saw a very concerned Preston and Jay, with Mitch standing over by Lachlan while holding ice onto his back.
Preston was holding ice on my back and as he moved it slightly I relaxed completely and then tensed up as a voice echoed in my ears. "Good to hear you're okay Rob." Mollie spoke again, commenting on something that Tyler had said but it was too quiet for me to understand what he was saying. I moved my head to see that Vikk and Jerome were still in their cell and Vikk was actually half asleep, tucked into Jerome's side on the bed and Jerome was watching over him and everyone else carefully.
I heard Lachlan groan and I turned my head to face him instead to see him open his eyes and look straight at me. We made eye contact and held it for a few seconds before he groaned again and screwed his face up in pain. He reached his hand off the bed when he opened his eyes and I did the same. The two beds were close enough that we could reach each other from the positions we were in and as our fingers intertwined I squeezed his hand he looked up and smiled. And that was all I needed to believe that we were going to make it.
