The morning came around too fast for my liking, although Adina woke us up late at 10 o'clock. None of us actually wanted to get up, the court seemed more like a nightmare the closer the time got to it.
I was one of the first to wake up, as well as Mollie and Tyler so I saw all of the others before they actually woke up. Jerome had moved into Lachlan's bed at some point during the night because they were curled up together, Lachlan with his head in Jerome's chest.
Preston, Vikk and Mitch all looked they got a decent amount of sleep, at least Vikk got more than he had the night before, the bags under his eyes were less prominent and he seemed more awake. Lachlan was the opposite with tousled hair, bleary eyes and bags hanging under his eyes but I knew that he been awake for quite a lot of the night, although he didn't know it.
Adina continued the same operation as the previous days, handing us food and leaving us too it but I was quite happy to see that we all had some of the food even if it was just a piece of the toast. Lachlan had the least of all of us but his tiredness gave way eventually to a much brighter person after about an hour.
We were given clothes at about half past eleven and told that we had 45 minutes until we were leaving. The air in the room changed almost immediately and we all silenced ourselves, our moods dampening.
Nick and Michael turned up about five minutes later with the Sidemen but we didn't really feel like talking so the next while were sat in silence with the occasional chatter from the Sidemen who didn't seem to get that we were scared and not really up to talking.
Several police officers walked into the room, two pushing wheelchairs and we all froze, the time had come. I helped Lachlan into his wheelchair while Preston helped Mitch and all too soon we were leaving to face the people who had gotten us into the whole situation.
The Sidemen were coming for emotional support but they weren't allowed to be in the witness stand with us, so they would just be in the seating, which we were told would be in the back of the room. According to some of the officers, after we had told the court who was who we would be allowed to go and sit with them but somehow I doubted it.
We took the same van that took us to the place where we were held to the courthouse but this time I was ten times more nervous than I had been before. I didn't know why, I knew were safe and nothing could happen but there was still an uncertainty around.
The van pulled up at the courthouse and I saw something that I hadn't anticipated, the press. They weren't allowed anywhere near the hospital while we were there, so I suppose they were taking the opportunity to try and get close to us now.
"Go around and the back. I'm not letting these guys out with the wild hoard out there."
That was one of the officers, seeing how terrified we were. The van drove slowly through the sea of people and we all pulled our hoods up because they were pressing their cameras right up to the windows of the van and yelling at us.
Lachlan and Vikk had their ears covered and Mitch and Preston had ducked down out of sight of the windows, desperate to get away from the yelling and flashing of the press and cameras. I made eye contact with Jerome, the only one who wasn't ducking away or covering their ears, and he looked back at me with widened eyes, a little bit shocked from the cameras.
The van pulled through a set of gates that shut behind us and I heaved a sigh of relief, looking around at the others who were just starting to uncover their ears or sit up. I could almost feel the relief at being away from the large crowds but there was still a lot of tension in the air, more than there had been before.
The van doors were opened by two official looking people with the word security written on their backs. They were both very muscled and they led those who could walk out first before unhooking Lachlan and Mitch's wheelchairs and pushing them out of the van.
From the gate, which was a little way away, there were flashes and yelling from the reporters and cameras, who had followed the van to the gate. We all avoided looking at them and followed the guards into the building, myself and Preston pushing the two wheelchairs.
We were led around the building down the back and less fancy corridors to a wide and open room. The courtroom.
There were a good few people in the room already including the Sidemen, who were sitting at the back of the room as promised. The judge and jury were there as well but they were completely at ease, talking between each other.
The looked up when we came in, probably noticing how terrified we were. One of them stood up and walked towards us, guiding the officers and us to a box near the corner of the room. There were two rows of seats and we all took one of them, apart from Mitch and Lachlan who sat on the ends of the rows in their wheelchairs.
The person who guided the officer turned to us and smiled, trying to ease the tension.
"Alright guys, this might seem unofficial but I'll introduce myself and the others to you. I'm going to be staying with you for the duration of the trial and I'll be guiding you through what you need to do."
She pointed out the judge and the jury to us, of which there were eight people.
"We don't have a the full jury right at the moment, there should be 12 but the others will be here soon. The official hearing doesn't start until two, they just wanted you here so we could explain what's going on."
"The judge is called Martha, she's very nice and the others are all part of the crown jury."
We all nodded along as she explained what was going to happen, basically when the people who were convicted would be led into the glass area on the other side of the room, the charges would be read, and then we would be asked if that was correct.
We were told that it was okay if we didn't recognise some of the convicted people because they had video evidence, they just wanted a witness to testify against them. Mollie and Tyler as well Michael and Nick were also in the box with us, they were told they were the main witnesses and were the most crucial.
The other Pack members and myself were told that we just had to say that we were there, we saw what happened to the others and things like that but other than that we wouldn't need to speak, which led to a lot of sighs of relief.
While we talking the other jury members had arrived and the judge knocked her hammer on the wooden thing on the top of her desk thing.
The time had arrived.
