The day went very fast after that, with the Sidemen popping in a for a few hours to say hello, Michael and Nick staying for pretty much the whole day and police officers coming in to say something every half an hour or so.
We were loaned a computer from the Sidemen so we made an update video and uploaded it onto all our channels, most of the video just us talking about random things and the rest of it actually giving the viewers information. We knew that most of them would know about us being missing so we gave them the straight facts, but not about how much we were injured.
The only one of us with their upload streak still being continued was Vikk, the Sidemen had been kind enough to upload a video each day while he had been away.
We had been given the actual facts of how long we had been missing, we had been held prisoner for approximately 40 hours, and we had been in the hospital for a little of 48 hours. Most of the time in hospital had been sleeping, according to Adina we had been asleep for well over half the time we had been there.
At about eight o'clock that night we were told we would have to be in the court by one o'clock the following afternoon, giving us some time to get some new clothes, as none of had any anymore because the ones we had been wearing had been thrown away as they had blood all over them.
We were told that Mitch and Lachlan would have to continue to stay in their wheelchairs when they left and the rest of us were all okay so the hospital was less reluctant to let us go than they had been last time.
By the time we had finally decided to actually get into bed it was about eleven o'clock and Mollie and Tyler were already passed out on the same bed. Nick and Michael were staying in the hospital with us in a separate room, they were hoping to get their backs fixed at some point later on, but for the time being it was mainly for supervision.
I spent the first part of the night staring at the ceiling, sleep a long way off. I knew some of the others were feeling the same way because I could hear the uneven breathing from several of the beds next to me.
Preston, Mitch and Rob, as well as Mollie and Tyler, seemed to have no problem sleeping because when I rolled over to get too the cool side of the pillow I saw them all sleeping soundly, even breathing.
Even from where I was laying I could see that Lachlan had his eyes open, he was staring blankly at the ceiling with his hands lying on his chest on top of the blankets. Vikk was only half asleep I think, his eyes were closed but he was tossing and turning, sweat starting to gather on his forehead.
I stood up and padded over to Vikk's bed, quietly enough that Lachlan didn't see or hear me and loud enough that Vikk did.
He looked up at me and I sat on his bed, pulling him into my chest. His eyes were dull, their colour having faded from their bright brown that they were before the whole ordeal. He accepted the contact and cuddled up too my chest, his head resting close to my shoulder and his hands clutched in mine.
I ran my hand up and down his back for comfort, I could feel him relaxing slightly as time went on but I knew that sleep was still so far off for him.
We lay there for at least an hour, and every now and again I turned my head to look at Lachlan, he was still awake for the whole time that I was awake. When Vikk fell asleep I lifted him off me and lay him back on his bed, letting him adjust to not having the warmth next to him before I tip-toed over to Lachlan.
He was still lying in the same position that he had been in over an hour before and he was still looking at the same spot on the ceiling so when I reached out and took his hand, he jumped. His head turned to face me and I sighed, his eyes were dull too, they were once bright blue but they were faded, almost grey.
I sat behind and pulled him up into my chest, not exactly comforting him but letting him know that I was there. His hand was still wrapped up in mine so I left it there, I knew he needed some sort of lifeline. He was limp in my arms, not tensed up like Vikk had been, I knew it was worse.
I moved my free hand to stroke his hair, letting him breath to his own pattern. Sleep wasn't something I was very worried about, I knew that he had more things on his mind than sleep at that moment, so getting rid of them would be the first step.
I think he was blaming himself for Jay's death, we all were but the thing was he couldn't have done anything, he was unconscious. Having been his friend for years I knew he had a weird habit of wishing things had been different, different enough that he could have done something to have changed what did happen.
I rubbed my thumb across the top of his hand, and for the first time that night I got a response. He looked up at me and squeezed my hand back, moving his other hand up to my spare hand. He wrapped his fingers around mine and I saw tiredness in his eyes when I looked down at him.
I moved him so he was laying on his side, his head in my chest and myself also on my side although my head was further up on the bed. His breathing started to even out and from that point on I knew sleepless nights would be a usual occurrence, we were all so scarred from what had happened, sleep would be rare.
I decided to make the most of it.
