Sun's Up, Cover Up

This entry isn't so much about guys but about a value that I think more girls should have. That value is modesty. It's summer. Know what that means? Beach, swimming, tanning, tank tops, etc. I spent a few days at Wildwoods Beach and I must say, seriously? Some of the things these girls were wearing were the definition of... ridiculously eww.

My Dad grew up in a house hold where women are not supposed to beautify themselves in any way. No piercings, no make up, hair always up, no nail polish, no tattoos, girls can't wear pants only shin length skirts. Let me tell you, I would DIE if my dad was this strict but he's not not so I live. Obviously. He is strict to a point though. All skirts must be below my knees, no skinny jeans, no leggings without a longer shirt, no bikinis (not that I would wear one anyway), no strapless dresses. The last one makes looking for a homecoming/snowball dance dress really hard. I have to model all of my cloths before I take the tags off.

On that note. Not only to the skimpy bikinis irritate me but some girls could use this statement. If I can wrap a beach towel around myself and show less skin than you, you shouldn't wear that dress.

Though sometimes the do irritate or inconvenience me, I do respect my dad's rules. He works in a prison and I'm his only daughter so... I see where he gets his concern. He spends every day with a bunch of men that are in jail for doing terrible things to little girls like me. That's why he wants me to dress like modestly.

Girls, I don't care if it does attract the boys, if all a boy cares about is how much skin you're showing, he's not worth it. Simple as that. Girls are little gifts that God puts in the world. When you get something new you take care of it right? Keep it safe. That's one of the things a simple one piece bathing suit could do for you.
