A Girl's Guide to Guys and God.

Look girls I've been thinking a lot about this dance on Saturday. What to wear, how to do my hair, what make up I should wear but I've also been thinking about those slow songs. The ones when I stand and watch. The ones when I go from dancing all night to being a wall flower.

Look I'd like a date just as much as the next girl, but I've also pictured that moment and feeling sad, lonely, and maybe even a little jealous. Although I also have the idea on my head that Jesus Christ can offer me more love and affection than any man on this earth. That I can always count on him to hold me as I cry, comfort me when I'm scared, and love me unconditionally. While a boy can only offer so much Jesus Christ can give me the world.

I'll admit I'm tearing up a little as I type this. I just can't believe that he could love me THAT MUCH enough to lay down his life for me. A little human girl who's has sinned. He could turn his back on me. He could just reject me. He could let me cry alone. But no, he doesn't. He loves me. He loves me so much that he gave up his spot on the right hand of God to come into this world as a little baby and live perfect life only to die a gruesome, horrible, and unimaginably painful death all for me.

So why am in so worried about what a boy thinks of me? I honestly don't know. It's just part of being a human teenage girl I guess. Looking around and seeing couples hugging and kissing all to break up a week later. The love that Jesus has for you and me lasts a WHOLE LOT longer than a week.

Don't get me wrong I'm definitely looking forward to the day when I meet the one God has for me. I'm not saying boys are totally awful and to avoid them completely. I'm only saying that a boy shouldn't take God's place in our lives.

I personally think that every girl should have a set of standards. Requirements that an oh should meet. For me he must love God with all of his heart, soul, and mind. He must have the intention to wait until marriage. I know that sounds stupid and that I shouldn't go on so I'll stop with that subject right now. Anyway, he must also respect me I'm not saying worship me like a queen or anything, just remember that women are gifts from God they're not to be "messed" with.

Say the guy does love God... He should also encourage you to love him too. I don't want a guy who's going to pull me away from God. No Way! I have a ring I wear in my left ring finger that says " Waiting on The One who waits on the Lord". It just is a personal reminder that I can keep on me, on the finger reserved for my husband.

Ladies, having a boyfriend doesn't make you pretty, or cool, special. To tell the truth, any relationship you have is intended to last until marriage. I wouldn't date one guy knowing I would marry another. It just wouldn't make sense. So many girls kind of "make their rounds" between guys. Every time you turn around she's with a new guy. What's the point of that? You can only marry one. So make it a good one. A good influence, an encouragement, a good guy who loves you.
