I didn't care if Mikey thought it was a bad idea, I was going to talk to Gerard, whether he fucking liked it or not. Mikey told me it was best to leave him alone, to let him calm down, but I just laughed at him and told him that was tough shit, because I was gonna speak to him now. I was kind of sick of the childish antics he was playing; he couldn't ignore me forever, he couldn't stomp off every time I spoke or tried to have a conversation with him. He was just being fucking childish.
I knocked three times on the door slowly, making sure it was clear and loud enough for Gerard to hear. There was a groan from inside the room.
"Fuck off." He yelled. I gripped hold of the plate that the three slices of pizza sat on, and sighed. I wasn't gonna fuck off, not just yet. I knocked again three times, and he yelled again, this time more like an angry growl.
"I said, fuck off!" He snapped. I angrily huffed and booted the door open as I pressed onto the handle, stomping into the dimly lit room. Gerard was sat on his bed, his laptop on his lap, and to be quite honest, his face when I walked in was hilarious. But the shocked gaze soon turned into a glare as I grimaced back at him, slamming the door shut behind me. I didn't really understand why he moved his bedroom down into the basement...
"I fucking heard you, douche bag," I snapped. "But to be quite honest, I coudn't give a fuck. You've ignored me all week, told the guys shit about me, acted like a total brat when I've spoken to you...just fucking give up, Gerard." I deposited to plate onto some desk beside me.
"You give up! Why are you even here?"
"To give you some pizza-"
"No," He cut me off. "I mean in Belleville! Get into your head, Helena, that you fucked up and I don't want to be your friend anymore!" I opened my mouth to say something, but he shoved his laptop aside and stood from his bed, advancing towards me. "You just bounce back into our lives, not even fucking apologizing for everything!"
"You haven't given me a chance!"
He scoffed. "To be honest, I don't even wanna hear it! It's probably some lame excuse because Andrea had to leave early from your party or something-"
I slapped him hard across the cheek, tears dripping down my face as I screamed at him. "Fuck you! You have no idea what happened! How dare you stand there and act as if you know what happened to me! You left, you left me there with them!" I sobbed. He stared down at me, confused, shocked and pained while he touched the left side of his cheek. Concern filled his eyes, but I ignored it and continued to yell.
"I blamed you because you left me, I told you I hated you because when I needed my best friend, he wasn't there! It was so fucking hard, and...and! I mean, urgh! Now I'm here, I'm trying to make things better, to apologize, but you're being such an ass and won't let me! Well you know what? I give up, okay? You've got what you wanted, congrats." And with that, I ran up the stair case from the basement as he yelled after me. Mikey was there when I turned the corner to the hall, and I ran into his arms that were there waiting. He hugged me as I sobbed, but eventually I had to push away. He stared down at me worriedly as I wiped my eyes, composing myself and gave him a weak smile.
"Helena? I think you should stay here for tonight, your mom's working all night, isn't she?"
I shook my head. "She is, but it's fine. I need to be on my own..."
"Helena, wait there!" I heard Gerard from behind me, which was my cue to leave. I pulled away from Mikey and shoved passed him, quickly flinging open the front door and heading across their front yard towards the fence.
I'd meant what I'd said. I was tired of him and his games, I'd just tried to make things right, to just apologize. From now on, I was just gonna leave him alone. He told me he didn't want me anymore, so there's no point trying. I wasn't going to stand there and let him accuse me of sobbing over something lame that didn't even happen. He had no fucking idea...
