Public enemy{Chapter Twenty - Four}

I woke to the sound of Tanya singing at top of her voice sitting on one of her many bean bags, she had earphones in and was gawking at her laptop.
I took a pillow and threw it at her.

"Ow!" she groaned, turning around to look at me,"Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed."

"You are making noise," I groaned.

She gave me one of her devious smiles, those smiles meant trouble,"Is it the noise annoying you or the the fact that you didn't wake up in your boyfriend's arms?"

I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, I learnt that from Tyson. Whenever he was stressed he always ran his hand through his hair,"So...what did your parents say about my staying here? I mean I didn't talk to them yesterday."

She took out her earphones and came to seat crossed legged on the bed,"They say you are more than welcome to stay here for as long as you like. They see you as their own daughter."

"Are they still here or did they go to work?" I asked."I want to thank them personally."

"They left for work around 7:00 in the morning. Right it is 12:45pm," she said and started to laugh at my shocked face.

"You are lying," I said grabbing her wrist to look at the time. Wow...I guess I slept in. I groaned and fell back on the bed.

"By the way your phone was ringing non - stop last night so I switched it off," she said handing my phone,"And also you are famous on social media. You are the it topic right now, I mean people are speaking as if they know you."

"Can I see your laptop?" I asked getting out of bed.

She quickly stood up and shut her laptop, "You don't want to see what people have to say, believe me."

I grabbed the laptop from her and switched it on and my eyes literally popped out.
People had no filters, damn!
The things they were saying could knock you off your feet, they were speaking their minds.

This person was actually threatening me!?
Wow!
What do you say to that?

I sat on the bed and Tanya took the laptop from me. She gave me an apologetic smile,"Sorry love. That's why I didn't want you to see."

"They have no right!" I snapped,"They don't know what happened. They have no right to judge me!"

"People will be people, they'll talk. That's how we are...unsympathetic," she said.

"Still they have no right to  comment like that. I will show them all," I exclaimed,"If they think they can bad mouth me - they are sadly mistaken!"

"What! Do you know how many people are commenting...more than million," she exasperated,"Just ignore them. They'll get bored soon."

"Ignore them? Ignore them!"I snapped," How the heck do I ignore them? Tanya they are ruining my life right before my eyes, I can't ignore them, they don't know the pain of being strangled to the point of dying, they don't know the pain of hearing your mother cry out in pain because some excuse for a man is beating the life out of her. I swear they must try me, all those people out there, they must try me....I will fix them their own size, they don't know me. I don't take crap from people who know nothing about me!"
People are so inconsiderate, they think they know everything.
They think they know you.

"Don't do something you'll regret." Tanya said breaking my chain of thoughts,"If you retaliate...then you'll be giving them more reasons to tarnish your name."

"Don't worry I won't. Anyways I need to go and see my mom," I said getting up from the bed,"Can I borrow your clothes?"

"Yeah, sure," she said and then she put her hands on my shoulders,"It'll be okay."
I nodded and made my way towards the bathroom.

After an hour trying to avoid the press and people trying to attack me...yes attack me!
These one dude threw a brick at the side of the window where I was seated.
He almost killed me, luckily I ducked but not before the brick grazed my cheek.
Thanks to Tanya watching too much spy movies we managed to avoid the press and we made it to the hospital.
The doctor escorted me to my mother's room as if I was gonna attack her or something.
She was my mother for crying out loud!
After he escorted me to her room, he wouldn't leave. I practically had to beg him to leave and give me some space.
He gave me the I'm watching you look.
When he closed the door behind him, I heaved a sigh of relief and went to my mother's side.
She looked a bit better from the last time I saw her.
The bandages on her face were removed revealing deep scars that didn't show any signs of going away any time soon.
Both her eyes were swollen and so was her mouth.
Her hands were the only ones not covered in bandages.
The doctor said she was doing better, but they couldn't risk taking her out of the coma.

I pulled the chair closer to the bed and took her hands in mine, they felt cold so I gently rubbed them to give her some warmth,"Hey mom...it's me, um...I got out of jail, yup. Tyson...he made some kind of deal with this guy and, it's all so complicated. I don't know whether to tell you the truth about Tyson or not, I'm scared that if you learn who he is, you'll not allow me to date him. Mom I love him with all that is within me, I don't think I have ever loved a guy as much as I love him."

I heard that people in a coma can hear what you say, so hopefully she could this.
I knew once she woke up, she'd have a good talk about my confession and then she'd tell me how dangerous unprotected sex was( most parents have that talk with their children and it can be pretty uncomfortable).
Truth is Tyson and I never spoke about that topic, we didn't want to complicate things...my mom wanted me to keep my virginity until my honeymoon and I agreed with her, and Tyson never pressurised me into that.
I looked at my mom and felt the tears forming in my eyes.
She had to make it, I couldn't survive without her in my life.
