@koki_loki was the closest with being partly right about the Queen's motives.
Alexander:
To say that Desiree's mouth dropped would be an understatement. It practically fell to the floor. Even I was a little confused and my worry had shot up to mortal danger. We were done for. It really made me realise that my kingdom was actually a lot more stable. It was surprising that this kingdom was still standing. I looked around, checking to make sure if there was a way out, but the windows were shut with shutters closed and locked. The doors, both of them, were guarded by the assassins and some were bigger than others, which meant that I had no way of fighting Desiree out of here even with my knife strapped to my side, but just as I thought that, one of the assassin's patted me down and took my knife off of me and the daggers I had strapped to my side. Well that idea was out of the way and dead.
I stared up at Desiree's parents and glared at them, but where I thought her father would be the one gloating and happy that I was in his kingdom, it was her mother instead. Her father, who as I said I thought would be jumping for joy at my presence, was stock still and had a dead look. It was like he was under a spell and was barely even there. I pulled at my chains and felt the silver and garlic actually in the chains. I wasn't going to be going anywhere. I smelt that Desiree's rope was smothered in wolfs bane and so she was useless too.
Desiree's mother grinned maliciously as she walked towards us, thanking her assassins for the job that they had done. I looked over at Desiree and watched as many emotions flashed across her face at one time. Hurt, anger, confusion and sadness. I wouldn't know how to feel either if my mother had spent most of the last few months trying to kill me.
The Queen, now happy that we were stuck in the chairs, came towards us and smiled even more sickly and evilly. She was wearing a long, but tight bodiced black dress with a straight sort of skirt that trailed behind by a few inches. The sleeves of the dress clung tight to the Queen's body like a second skin and the bodice, which pushed up her ample breasts to the point that they were practically heaving out of their fabric cage, were lightly beaded and shimmered when the candle light hit the dress. It was a simple, but nice looking dress that would not have looked good on Desiree.
"Now," She started and she clapped her hands together, rubbing them slightly like she was scheming. "What to do with you two? I had a plan for you, my dear stupid daughter, but never for you." She said as she came towards me. "You really are a stupid, love sick idiot, aren't you boy? Why on earth would you dare set foot in the Werewolf Kingdom knowing that there is a treaty? Well was, now that you are here I can send off an army to your dear sweet mother and gain that Kingdom too."
"So what is your plan then? Or was?" I asked.
"Oh I thought you'd never ask. I might as well tell you seeing as I'm going to kill you. It's a delightfully revengeful tale." The Queen started. She clicked her fingers and her dumbstruck husband brought her a chair. She sat in front of us and crossed her legs delicately.
"Now, as you know, this idiot is my mate, much to my recent chagrin." She gave the King a dirty and stomach churning look. "Well, he had become so infatuated with the new Vampire Princess, now Queen and mother to you." She said as she looked at me. "He didn't care when I got sick whilst pregnant with this one," The Queen jerked her head at Desiree. "I had to try every healer and then some crack pot was called and gave me a blood transfusion, I was finally better, but not that this one cared." Again, a thumb point at the King. "I gave birth to Desiree, but as soon as she was out of me, my body went back to being weak and I was heavily scarred. I am unable to ever have any more children and so I was of no use to Recce anymore. They realised early on that Desiree was a special child and when she shifted at 6, she was taken away to be trained to be the next Queen; not that I cared. She had ruined my body and I was glad to see the back of her, but she took my husband away from me. The first time Recce looked at my body after I had Desiree he looked at me with disgust. I had scars on my stomach, permeant bruises and sagging parts. I was ugly in his eyes and he practically ran away from me. He then sought comfort in others and it was like knives in my heart and so I ran off to the Swan Lake Castle to get away from the pain. I had now lost everything because of this baby. My looks, my health, my husband and now my home. I wasn't thought of as the Queen anymore, no one saw me and they now thought of Desiree as their ruler, especially as my husband's madness over the treaty increased and he did less work for the Kingdom. I was forgotten and so were my other children, all forgotten in place for the retched child that ruined me. No one cared." She said sadly and for a mere second I felt a slight pang of sorrow for her. "Then, as if to annoy me more, she started changing things! Paying me less than what I deserved each month and changing what I had put in place." She screeched. "Yes! I was running the country behind your father's back and letting the further packs do what they wish...at a price. Why do you think I was in such a fury when my allowance was lowered significantly from what I was used to? The Alphas paid me to look the other way and everything was perfect till she was born! She ruined everything! I had so much power! I controlled so much! I had the run of the Kingdom and it was all snatched from me! I had spent years with your sister, teaching her the way of the land before you turned out to be strong and making it so that she leaned heavily on me, but of course, you ruined that too, didn't you? Stupid girl!" The Queen screeched. "I had so much power!"
"So you set assassins on Desiree when she took her ride around the Kingdom?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"Yes and they would have killed her too, had it not been for you and then we could have blamed the Vampires as they were going to stage it like the Vampires had killed her and then we'd have attacked your Kingdom, taken it and I would have ruled both Kingdoms."
"How would you have ruled both? The King didn't love you anymore."
"Do you not see the stupider state my dear husband is in now?" I nodded in answer to her. "Simple witch's spell. He'll remain under this spell until I die." She said with a wide grin like a Cheshire cat.
"But your children would take the throne, not you."
"What children?" At these words Desiree woke up from the sort of day dream like state she was in. It was like she had been in a different world.
"What did you do?!" Desiree screeched.
"Well, my hold over my children has lessened over the years and when you slipped through my clutches I knew I had to do something to rid myself of them and their competition." She said in a flat, un-feeling voice.
"You killed them?" Desiree asked in a quivering voice.
"Well, not by my own hand, but yes, through my assassins."
"The children too?" She asked, big tears falling down her face.
"Of course you stupid girl, just you now."
"H-how?" Desiree's asked in a wobbly, broken voice and I'd feel like that too if I'd found out all my siblings and their families were dead.
The Queen seemed to beam at being asked this question. "Oh well let's see now, Amber was slipped a strong dose of wolf's bane, Axon 'fell' and broke his neck down those huge stairs in the house, Sebastian drowned in the pool and Arnold found them dead and hung himself. Clark finally snapped and killed Trina before turning the gun on himself. Ben was sniper shot at a picnic and so was the rest of the family, vampire blood left behind. At least those are the stories being published in the news and what I'm going to write about you is this; Princess Desiree found to be mating with the Vampire Prince was tried and killed for breaking the peace treaty and helping her mate to kill her siblings and their children. Good isn't it?"
"You'd kill your own children and grandchildren?"
"Have you not been listening, you stupid girl?" The Queen exasperated. "Power! I deserve to rule the Kingdom, not any of you know what this Kingdom needs. I don't deserve to be thrown to the side! But you all did it!" The Queen composed herself and flicked her long hair back. "Now, I've decided what I am going to do with you both." She said in a gleeful tone. "I'm going to have Reece and Alexander here fight each other to the death. So, either you lose a mate or a father, both I'd be happy with."
The Assassins took my chains off and handed me a sword. They handed a sword to the King before the Queen whispered in his ear. He took the sword and held it, ready to fight with me. I held the sword too, looking around at all the men. The Queen grinned and walked to the door, but not before yelling at her husband to attack and I had just enough time to defend myself with the sword. Half of the assassins left with the Queen and the rest had stayed to make sure one of us died. I have no idea how I'm going to get out of this one.
Anyone want to hazard a guess on what's going to happen next?
