I woke up, feeling a bit out of place.
My arm hurt as well as my whole torso.
I sat up, attempting to get myself to stand up.
I had somewhat of a hard time trying to function from last night, but after a few paces in my bedroom, I was able to walk.
I went to my dresser to search for clothes to wear. I found a long sleeved white sweater, and a matching floral skirt, the background being white.
Before I got dressed, I realized I had to patch up my bruises and my cuts from yesterday due to the beer bottles.
There were shards of glass stuck in my sleeves, and I pulled them out; some were hard to get out too, it was too painful, and I couldn't help but wince as a result.
After I felt comfortable with everything, I put on my outfit, slipping on my black combat boots with it.
I decided to do the braided headband at the top of my head, beginning to feel better than before.
I sprayed on some perfume, slipped on my backpack, and
entered outside. I decided to check the mailbox too, to see that there was forty dollars in an envelope from my aunt.
She also had a letter for me too:
Dear Jasmine,
Hope everything is okay in Philly so far. Remember, I'll be sending some money every week. I wish I could see you. Again, hope everything is fine, and that you're adjusting to school. I love you lots, remember that!
Sincerely,
Your Aunt Lori. XO
I couldn't help but smile while reading her letter. I wish we could of just moved here together, but my dad still owned custody of me. So, that meant I still had to live with him. The bus came, with me stepping on it. The guy I met from yesterday, Mike, wasn't on the bus. I was bothered, but I felt a little lonely not having someone to talk to. When we arrived, I headed inside the school. Shawn was there at the lockers, looking as if he was searching for me. I went to go use the restroom first, and of course, there were a bunch of preppy girls in the bathroom.
One of them saw me walk in, later asking me if I was friends with Shawn.
Since I felt shy, I nodded in response.
"Oh if I were you though, I wouldn't go out with him. He always goes out with a bunch of girls. He basically can't help himself so he's never concealed to one. He's a pig, and is trailer trash too." She warned me, causing me to roll my eyes at her so called "warning."
"Shawn isn't trailer trash." I argued, defending him.
"Wait til you hear about more of his family life. He's the only one here from this school who lives in a trailer park." She laughed snobbishly, and the other girls did too.
"That's your opinion, but you only say that cause you're stuck up and conceited." I remarked at her, and she scoffed, offended at my derogatory comment.
"Excuse me?!"
I walked out of the bathroom, realizing it wasn't worth it. I found Shawn who still remained at the lockers, and once he spotted me, he smiled genuinely.
"Hey Jasmine." He greeted me.
"Hey Shawn." I greeted back, kind of shy,but he seemed hesitant at first.
"I was wondering if you'd like to go out on a date with me tonight?" He asked.
A date? Already?
"Already?" I asked him, a little astonished.
"Yeah. I was wondering if you wanted to, if that's okay?"
"Sure. I'd like to Shawn." I answered, and he smiled.
"Really? That's great!"
I smiled back at him, blushing.
"I'll meet you at Chubbie's. Sound good?" He asked me.
"Sounds good." I answered softly, the bell ringing, signaling us to go to first hour together.
