Jasmine
Friday abruptly transcended and at last there was only a hour til the football game began. In advance, I already informed my aunt of the arranged date and she was fine with it. She even gave me some money from her paycheck so I could purchase a new dress.
I bought a dark red button up dress with white speculated dots scattered over them, and thought that it would support the team.
Once I returned back home, I changed into the dress and slipped on a pair of tan dusty colored pair of booted heels. I didn't even try fighting with my fragmented mess of hair. I combed it and left it down since it was easy appealing.
Trailing down the stairs in a hurry, I found my aunt sitting at the kitchen table, sipping on a cup of sugared tea.
"Hey you look all cute and dressed up for your date tonight," she complimented me,"it's going to be a cold one tonight by the way."
"Oh, right." I scrambled back upstairs to gamble a jean jacket when I paused to find something I kept forgetting.
It was Shawn's leather jacket he lender me when I set off to New York. Memories flushed my mind, remembering the countless and plentiful days of how I wouldn't stop walking around on campus with it hovering my shoulders. It was like as if he was there, protecting me like the boulder it was. Warm and cozy, hugging me so tight. Now I just thought, I had to give it back to him now that we were broken up.
Forgetting about it, I went back downstairs to notice it was light out. I remembered since Evan had a long football practice to prepare him for the big game, so that meant I had to walk there. No big deal, it was within distance.
I didn't tell my aunt that since I knew she would worry a fret, but it was fine. If I get there now, it wouldn't be so heavy crowded. I scurried out the door, with no confrontations whatsoever.
Until I bumped into Shawn, unexpectedly.
"Oh hi Shawn." I huffed out, the two of us pausing to at least say some words to each other.
"Hey Jas, going to the football game?" He asked me. I nodded in response, slightly kicking the tiny grinds of pebbles in the curb in a swerved angle.
"I was just walking around. I had nothing to do." He shrugged, shoving his hands into the pockets of his pants. I could sense he appeared empty without his leather jacket on. But somehow, he still was tough. Even if it was just in a singled armor shirt underneath, fabricating it was a flannel.
"Yeah. I have to walk there though. I mean, at least I would be the first one to arrive there." I added into the conversation, not wanting it to be an awkward silence like our previous ones lately.
"I could walk you there," he offered protectively,"I mean, so you could have someone to be with."
I bit my lip, wishing he could. My ex- boyfriend walking me to the football game wouldn't be such a keen idea. Evan could get jealous.
"No it's fine, thanks anyway Shawn." I assured him. Before I knew it we were a couple inches in front of each other, closer together than we were before.
When we locked a gaze in ignition, my heart began to pound emotionally.
I need to stop this.
"Are you sure? At least halfway?" He continued to offer simultaneously, completely going out of his way.
"No, it's alright. I have to go." I reassured him at last. I scurried along avoiding any more eye contact with him. I knew he was still standing there speechless, but it didn't stop me from going to the football field.

When I arrived, I was thankful I was earlier than expected. By the time twenty minutes passed, everyone was showing up in a flash. This was really the first football game I've ever been to. I never took interest in sports, especially football. As a matter of fact, I loathed it despairingly. That was because I wasn't into it, not like how I was with singing.
Now that I had a boyfriend, on another note, it was my job to like football. As if it was a force.
I had a couple hours here. During the first few minutes, I purchased some food from the other half of the money saved up when buying my new attire. I went back to my seat in the bleachers, politely shoving through crowds of people. I munched on my nachos and took a sip of my water bottle, watching Evan out on the field. I cheered on for him, being the supportive girlfriend I was; basically, portraying as the good luck charm.
"Go Evan!" I cheered on, applauding him as he scored a touchdown. This was going to be a long game.

It was weird not going out on a Friday night with Jasmine like I always did. Seeing her meeting up with another guy, it was unusual. It made me begin to regret the mistake of moving on.
Instead, I was spending it with Jennifer Bassett. She wanted to play a game of tennis at her house. Not my thing.
And her driving me around everywhere? Shouldn't it be me?
I remember when I obtained my license. I was saving up for a vehicle, that was all. I didn't wanna borrow the family truck for the rest of my dates. Besides, the engine wasn't in the best shape. It had to be replaced, and don't let me go on how expensive that would be.
"Shawn, are you okay?" She asked me, as she was passing the ball. At least she was a bit concerned of my flaky appearance.
"I am just not feeling well, that's all." I informed her, my breaths resulting in long, heavy panting.
"Oh, is it your stomach again? I know it's been bothering you since yesterday."
"Uh," I said, regaining my breath again, becoming stable,"yeah. It is."
She took me home with no frets. She kissed me goodbye(not to mention I puckered up a grossed face) then headed inside. My dad wasn't home at all, so that told me everything just from one simple setting. I slipped into bed, groggy. I pictured Jasmine and Evan chuckling, her congratulating him with one big kiss on the lips. His muscled arms swinging her into his, halting her up. I quickly brushed the thought away, not wanting to think about it.
I know I was actually going to dread this school year, as I was beginning to.
I needed to be with her. But all I had to do now: was wait.

A couple weeks later
I've been dating Evan for only a couple weeks, and honestly it helped me move on from Shawn. Although, I have speculated a peculiar notice of his absurd behavior. I wasn't too worried about it. The thing was, since we weren't close as friends, I decided it was time to invite Shawn over along with Cory and Topanga tonight. Evan was having a long football practice tonight, so I decided: why not a hang out with them?
Topanga and Cory were the first ones to arrive. I ordered them to not tease me and Shawn of us hanging out.
"Fine, although I wish you two would get back together. I hate Shawnifer!" Cory complained. Topanga elbowed him the side, and he quickly rubbed it, feeling sharp pain. He yelped ow, but rapidly became better as soon as the door bell rang.
"Ooh! That must be Shawnie!"
"Remember guys, no teasing."
"Got it." The two confirmed in unison, just like one of those annoying couples that thought twinning at everything was adorable. No offense to them.
"Hey Shawn." I greeted. He welcomed me with a warm smile, and I noticed something I kept on lagging: Shawn's leather jacket still wasn't returned.
I had to give him that in private sometime. For my aunt, she had a long shift at her work, so that meant, the three of us would be home alone together. We were all going to head watch a movie here in the living room, then snack on some popcorn and other random junk. We had pizza bagel bites, three different bags of potato chips, and sipped on numerous cups of root beer. Just like any high school junior would.
Me and Topanga even went ooh at the hot screens of Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp in their hit movies. Not to mention I was referred to as Johnny's wife, whereas Topanga's was Tom Cruise's.
When it was time for Cory and Topanga to leave, I thought now became an appropriate time for me to return Shawn's jacket. Of course, the couple couldn't help but burst out laughing. I slightly pushed them out with remote annoyance, then focused my attention on Shawn.
"Hey Jasmine, what's up?" Shawn asked.
"Uh, come here." I trailed up the carpeted stairs and to my room, him following me. I came across the leather jacket, then quickly handed it to him.
"I still haven't been able to give this to you. I thought it was a little awkward having it now that we are broken up." I admitted to him. His gaped mouth closed, and he furrowed his eyebrows. His lips pursed into a frown, a grim expression forming across his face.
"Oh, I guess you're right."
"You okay Shawn?" I asked him.
"Yeah, I am fine. I just... I gotta go." He excused, storming out of the room.
"Wait Shawn-" I tried to pause him but he rushed out of my sight. I didn't upset him, did I? Was it too much? I didn't return all of the belongings he got me. I'm sure it'll all blow over in a couple days. We were no longer a couple. This shouldn't bother him.
Or should it?
