Chapter 11

5 Months later.

January 1958

Me and John still talk everyday. School is almost over John finally found the band a good and stable drummer named Richard Starkey but other people call him Ringo. Fans still want Pete but personally I like Ringo better.

I was walking out of my bedroom to the kitchen when Darren stopped me."Ye mom wont be home until 9" he said.

"Where did she go?" I asked while grabbing something off the shelf in the pantry."She has another job interview" Darren said while casually sitting at the table messing with his hands.

"Oh" I replied and put a pan on the stove. "So its just me and you here for awhile" He started pushing in his chair.

"I was actually about to go to Maureen's" I quickly turned the stove off noticing that he was walking towards me. Darren pushed me against the wall. "Its okay Penny, I know your a virgin. I wont hurt you"

I started panicking, I was trapped against Darren and a wall. "Darren get off!"

"Come off it Penny. It wont hurt." He started touching my boobs and his breath smelt like alcohol. "Darren I fucking mean it!" I snapped and spit in his face and tried pushing him away.

"Dammit Penny! I said I wouldn't hurt ye but now I am!" He wiped my spit off his face and started shoving me to the ground..I quickly grabbed the hot pan that was on the stove and whacked him in the face. Darren started screaming in pain. "DAMMIT PENNY THAT HURT!" He fell to the ground grabbing his face.

I ran out of the kitchen and out of the house and ran to Maureen's. I started banging on her door frantically. She finally answered.

"Oh hey Penny, whats up?" she said nicely. I pushed her and ran in her house and shut the door behind me. "Sorry Maureen, Darren is uh, being weird again"

"Oh, you can stay here I don't care really" She sat down on the couch and continued eating her bowl of cereal. Thank god I don't have to explain to Maureen about Darren since she already knows about him. I got a bowl of cereal and sat next to her on the couch.

"When you went to Liverpool how was it?" She said breaking the silence. "I liked it, its usually cold there but I really liked it." She nodded "When are you going to go back to see John?" She said laughing.

"I was planning on it in June when we get out of school" I said taking a bite of my cereal. "Take me with you?" she said smiling while giving me puppy eyes.

I laughed.

"Like a girls trip. Me you, Pattie and Jane" She said laughing.

I thought about it. "Where are we going to stay though?"

"We could get a hotel together?" She said smiling.

"What money Maureen?" I said kinda getting annoyed.

"All four of us can work our butts off and save money" She got up and put her cereal in the sink.

I thought about it for awhile and I think its a good idea. I got up and walked over to her phone.

"Who are you calling?" She said peeking over my shoulder.

"John, i'm telling him we are going to try and go over there with him and see his band." I said holding the phone to my ear.

After a few rings John answered. "Hello?"

"Hi John, its Penny" I said smiling Maureen rolled her eyes and plopped down on the couch behind me.

"How are ya love?" He said.

"I'm fine, Maureen and I are thinking about taking Jane and Pattie to Liverpool." Maureen looked over at me and nodded.

"Sounds good, want me to tell the band?"

Maureen kept putting her feet on me and giggling. "Not yet, I need to ask the other girls first" I said smiling.

"Okay love" He said.

"I'll call you later when i'm home?"

"I'll be waiting"

"Bye Johnny" I said smiling.

"Bye Penny" and he ended the call.

"I'll ask Pattie and Jane tomorrow" I said looking at Maureen.

"Okay" She said changing the channels on the tv.

I stayed at Maureen's until 9:30 then I went home.
