Chapter 16

AZURE

Me: " what's the problem? Is he ok?"
Dr.Grant: " yes Devin is fine. He was passed out drunk in front of his doorstep . I believe a neighbor found him and brought him to the hospital you're the only person on his emergency card, would you be able to pick him up?"

I thought to myself why am I the only person on his emergency card, what about his suppose to be sister . I didn't want to see Devin especially at this time in our life. But I wouldn't leave Devin in his worse because when we weren't talking he was there when I was in the hospital.

Me: " sure I'll pick him up Dr.Grant."
Dr.Grant: " thanks."

I ask my mom if I could use a uber to get Devin. She told me to be careful she's going out of town for a business trip. I found pretty weird because she's been lying to me about going to work and coming home from work early, but I didn't question it, I just said, " ok."
As I was in the uber I thought to myself, don't fall for his lies. Keep it casual stay in the friend zone.
I get to the hospital, I tell the uber, " I'll be right back."  I get Devin we walk to the car. The car ride was silent.

I remember Devin left my house sloppy drunk last night but I wasn't use to seeing Devin like this. Devin always held his composure but I guess our breakup was really getting to him.

Devin: " so I guess you mad at me?"
Me: " no I'm not mad, I have no reason to be mad."
Devin: " Azure ever since you left my life I took such a big downfall man. I love you so much without you I can't operate."

I'm trying so hard to avoid the conversation.
We pull up to his house.
Devin: " can you come inside please? Let's sit down and talk. I promise I won't pull anything."
It was Friday night I didn't have school tomorrow so I was fine with it.
Me: " alright Devin."

We sit on his couch and I look at him he really has lost his touch since I left him. He has no haircut beard need a line up. I was so use to seeing Devin on his game that our relationship really did take a bad turn for him.

Devin: " I guess I'll start, I never meant for Shaquavia to get pregnant. I would never do that on purpose to make you look bad--"
I cut him off.
Me: " I don't wanna talk about it."
Devin: " stop acting like a child yo and listen."
Me: " Me? Act like a child? You forgot you were the one who cheated throughout our whole relationship? But I'm the child? Yeah right."
Devin: " I'm trying to apologize hear me out."
Me: " hear you out for what? I've stuck by your side through thick and thin and you've disrespected me numerous times. The one who loved and cared for you and only wanted the best for you."
Devin:" I know I'm wrong for the shaqua---"

I cut him off again

Me: " HERE YOU GO WITH THIS SHAQUAVIA SHIT AGAIN IM HONESTLY SICK OF HEARING HER NAME ❗️ YOU NEVER MEANT FOR HER TO GET PREGNANT? BUT YOU FUCKED HER AND GUESS WHAT YOU FUCKED HER RAW AT THAT. SO TELL ME HOW THE FUCK IN THE WORLD YOU WOULDNT KNOW IF SHE WOULD GET PREGNANT? "

I couldn't hold the tears back the tears started falling. I looked him in his eyes.

Me:" Devin all I want you to do is to admit you fucked up. stop making excuses."
Devin: " you're right I did fuck up. I did. I love you so much. I've been drinking and I haven't been myself lately since we've broken up. All I want is for you to be in my life Azure."
Devin wiped my tears he grabbed me and brought me closer to him.
Devin: " I hate making you cry I just wanna make you smile."
Me: " sorry isn't gonna cut it, everytime you say sorry I take you back and then you a pull a different stunt. I'm not taking sorry this time. Actions speak louder than words."
