Chapter 7

"The consequences of our actions are so complicated, so diverse, that predicting the future is a very difficult business indeed."

<Headmaster’s office>

(Rush’s POV)

Nakikita nyo ba yang gwapong-gwapong lalaki? The one sitting in the couch inside the headmaster’s office with a crazy girl beside him?

Yeah, that’s me.

And as serious as hell, in all fvckin honesty…talagang wala akong naalala. The last thing I remember is that we both took shots of that liquor. Someone shouted. I woke up and…BOOM! Kasalanan ko na lahat-lahat. That is how she reacted. She is putting all the blame on me!

“Mr. Rush, Ms. Lagdameo…are you both aware that you just violated a serious rule in our school.”

“Talaga? San dun? Aish, masakit ang ulo ko. No comment.”

Napangiti lang si Headmaster. “Oh well, this kind of case is not enough for you two to handle. Don’t worry, your parents are coming.”

O_O

“You’re joking,” I snapped. “I’ve done so many shits in this school sir and none of it made my parents come and it’s impossible, they’re in London.”

“And my parents are in States.” Tsk…magsasalita pala ‘to?

“Well…it happens that both your parents are in Makati for a business convention when I called them.”

“What!?”  “Fvck!” sabay na bulalas naming dalawa.

“And in fact, they’re here.”

Nagbukas ang pinto and my dad and mom went in with another man and woman that I do not know. Probably her parents.

“Good morning Mr. & Mrs. Rush, Mr. & Mrs. Lagdameo, please have a seat.”

It’s been five months since I last saw them. They sat on the couch across where I was sitting and we faced each other like we’re not a family and don’t wonder coz it’s fvckin normal. My dad with his cold-stone face and my mom looking at me like I am not even worth wasting her precious-diamond-worth time. Unlike Blessie’s parents, her mother came to her for a hug and her father’s face filled with anger; and that’s the normal parents. May concern. Mine are not, they’re so fucked up with their money that to them I ceased to exist.

Tumikhim si Headmaster saka nagsalita. “It’s good that the parents of both parties are here. It is indeed a very serious matter, as you know. Mr. & Mrs. Rush, 10:00 AM I went to your son’s house as per your request that I talk to him to inform that you are in Philippines and you might as well visit him and to my surprise you daughter was there Mr. & Mrs. Lagdameo. It doesn’t take a genius to know why they were together and what they did. It is our rule here that a male student’s room is off limits to a female student that is why I called all of you because they just violated it.”

“So anong parusa? Expelled na kaming dalawa? Mas mabuti! Nang makalabas na ako sa impyernong ‘to---“

“Phillip John Wilson, shut your mouth. Nobody told you to speak.” With his cold-hearted voice, he was as scary as hell but I was immune to that. I’m too fvcked up to care.

“There was no direct punishment for this kind of act, for now…” panimula ni Headmaster. “But, I want the parents to talk to your child because if they will continue it might as well lead to pregnancy.”

Pregnancy? Oh, sh*t! That can’t be. She curled her hands into fists and I can see in her face that she was trying so damn hard not to cry. I don’t know what urged me but I just felt the need for it. I reached for her hands and I laced my fingers with hers.

“Ah, I just need to confirm it from them. Blessie, anak…talaga bang ginawa nyo yun?” tanong ng mama nya.

Pinisil ni Blessie ang kamay ko at alam ko kung anong ibig sabihin nun. I need to answer it for her. “Opo,” sagot ko sa mama nya.

“We are very sorry to what our son did to your daughter Ronaldo and Amelia.” Bullshit. Since when were you sorry for my stupidity dad? Ang galing lang magpakitang-tao. “You don’t have to worry because our son will marry your daughter as soon as possible that is if you agree.”

O_O ano daw? Langya! Hindi ako pwedeng magpakasal! Damn it! No!

“Better be safe and minimize future damage. Yes, we agree William, we’ll have them married next week.”
