Chapter 11

Alessandro's P.O.V

I am in shock, watching Carmela march up the beach to the hotel she is staying at. I cannot believe she actually saw me with Maria. Maria, yes is indeed my girlfriend but I don't want her to be. The only reason I'm dating her is because my mother wanted it. I've made up my mind. I call my colleague, Rome and ask him to take my shift. I go in search of Maria. I find her sitting in the cafe drinking fizzy water and gossiping with her two friends Ina and Aimèe. 'Sorry to interrupt girls. Maria can I talk with you over here' I ask in French. She does not speak English. She follows me over swishing her tiny checked skirt. She's exactly what you would call "plastic" like in Mean Girls. Wearing a tiny pink and white shirt with pink ribbons and a checked pink and white skirt. Pink thongs on her feet complete the whole look. Or so you would think. She looks at me curiously. 'Alright there is no easy way to say this. I want to break up' I say in French and her yellow eyes fill with tears. She starts crying and I put my arm around her but she pushes me away. 'I'm sorry' I tell her. 'You're sorry?. That's all you can say. A two year relationship ending just like that?. You fu-' She trails off cursing in French. Aimèe and Ina run over and hustle her away and I sigh. Right. Well I just ended a relationship and now the girl I want to be with told me she never wants to see me again. What will I do?. I don't want to get back with Maria and I doubt she would take me back and I wouldn't want her to anyway. I shall have to make it up to Carmela. I go home, lying on my bed and staring at the ceiling, thinking of ways to make it up to her. Carmela what will it take for you to forgive me?. I need you right now.
