Hi!. New story Woo!. Read on my cupcakes!.
Carmela's P.O.V
I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs in frustration and anger. My mother fudging parents. They just announced to me today over breakfast that I'm going to Paris for my birthday. I know that for some people this trip would be a dream come true but NOT ME. I am your average geek and I like it that way. No boys look at me they just skim right on past to my sister Cassia. I'm actually cool with that. I don't want boys to take an interest in me. This is unacceptable to my mother. Now I'm nearly 19 she's trying hard to set me up on blind dates and they're all unbelievably awful. I mean who would want to go on a date with a spotty, small, rude boy 4 years younger and he picks his nose?. I mean Ew right?. Mum is in a hurry to get everything packed. We're not going until tomorrow but still, she insists on being 'Punctual'. Me?. I'm just sitting on my bed, in a sea of clothes and a dozen suitcases by my feet. So far I've packed all the books in my room, my phone charger and headphones. My mother pokes her head in. 'Carmela!. You haven't packed anything!. You can't expect to go away for 10 days with a couple of books and your phone!. Now get packing. Don't forget that lovely dress your Aunt Jemima got you' She calls from half way down the stairs. I groan. My Aunt Jemima loves giving me clothes for Christmas and my birthdays. Don't get me wrong. Gold goes to her for effort to just send me gifts and remember my birth date each year but I hate the clothes she sends me. They're all ancient cast offs from when she was a child. I hate them but I have to pack them or Mum will get mad. I pack clothes, toothbrush, cosmetics (in a zip-lock bag tucked in a spare compartment) and my writing journals. I dunno why I love writing. I zip one suitcase closed. I unlike my mother need one suitcase and one suitcase only. Mum, on the other hand would pack up the entire house if possible. I finish packing and log onto my laptop, which I will also pack when I'm done. I scan quickly through Facebook and Instagram, comment on a photo or two and Mum calls me for dinner. Argh. The last dinner I'll have at home. I savour the roast chicken, baked potatoes, carrots and peas. Then it's time for bed and I change into my favourite panda onesie, climbing in to my soft bed and wishing I never would have to leave it.
