I wake up the next morning and for the first time in a few days I don't have a smile on my face. Today is my last day in France. I leave tomorrow morning at 12 noon. I sigh as I get up, slipping on a hazel-coloured High neck playsuit, knee-high cat socks, a white waterproof mac and brown brogues. I whimper as I leave and stand outside, once again waiting for Alessandro. I groan as his truck pulls up. He smiles sadly at me and gives me a hug that I oh so desperately need. I moan as he strokes my hair and he laughs. 'That sad to be leaving huh?' He asks and I nod. 'Not to worry I have the perfect thing to do today' He says and leads me towards the truck. Again we drive out towards Alessandro's house but motor on past. 'We'll go back there later' He mumbles. We reach the cliff and I huff. 'Alessandro I like you a lot but there is no way in hell I am climbing that thing again!' I yell and Alessandro laughs. He drives on by the cliff and I sigh this time out of relief. After awhile we arrive at a ranch. I'm confused but never the less I get out and let Alessandro lead me to a barn. 'Hello, Hello, Hello' It was Esmeralda, dressed in faded blue jeans and a checked top, her long hair piled up in a bun. She winked at me when she saw me staring. 'The bookshop isn't my only job' She says. She opens the barn door. 'I also work on this farm, another one of my small dreams' She says and I gasp. Around me in stables are loads of horses. Masses of them, all shapes and sizes. I gaze at them and Esmeralda smiles. 'Take your pic' She says and I grin. 'Wait seriously?' I ask and the both of them nod. I walk over to a beautiful black horse with white hair and a spot over one eye. It's muzzle snuffled into me and I fell in love with those great amber eyes. 'Ah I see you seem to be drawn to Luna. Right I'll get you saddled up' Esmeralda said and saddled Luna up carefully, putting a red blanket underneath so it wouldn't rub Luna too much then she gave me a riding helmet and a pair of green wellies. I change into them and Esmeralda helps me clamber on. She feeds Luna a carrot before walking over and helping Alessandro climb onto a golden horse with huge eyes and long lashes. 'Right you two just follow the trail and be back in 2 hours. Carmela don't worry about Luna, she's a good horse. She'll ensure that you're safe. Alessandro you know what you're doing with Munchkin. See you both in two hours' She says and leads the way out. We start off with a walk down the path, the horses hooves crunching on the gravel. I try to go a little faster and Luna breaks into a canter. I'm scared out of my wits but I can't help but feel proud. I'm cantering on a horse!. If you'd have told me this a month ago I would have laughed. When we get to a grassy meadow Luna obviously wants to stretch her legs because she breaks into a gallop. I cling to her mane for dear life but I glorify in the moment and eventually relax. The feeling of my hair flying in the wind, galloping at about 100 miles an hour feels absolutely wonderful. Alessandro gallops along beside me and I throw my head back and laugh. When we eventually return to the barn I can't keep the grin off my face. We eat dinner of lasagna then Alessandro drops me back to the hotel. 'When will I see you again?' I ask after thanking him. 'Tomorrow'He says. 'Really?' I ask. 'Yes, I guarantee it' He says and I take a chance and peck his cheek. I skip inside and grin. Even though I'm leaving tomorrow I've had the time of my life. My God I love France.
