Empty House
here goes my scary story:
i was 2nd year in college when the only and by far the most dreadful thing happened to me. i was studying nursing then together with my 2 cousins (a girl & a boy). prior to the event, i was staying with my girl cousin for 2 years already since 4th yr high whilst my boy cousin was staying with his 2 older siblings in an apartment. out of the blue this boy cousin of mine asked me to move in with them coz they're planning to transfer in a 2-story house with 4 rooms. the plan was i'd be staying in a room with a close friend of mine from another school. there would be 8 of us in the said house, 2 people per room. excited as i was, i immediately called my mom abroad if i could move out from my girl cousin's house. after days of persuading she said yes. i was giddy and couldn't contain my happiness that i instantly move all my things the very same day my mom granted me her permission. the first time i saw the house i liked it already. it's nice, cozy and well-built owned by a high-ranked army official. the house was built as a wedding gift to his daughter but according to the caretaker that after the wedding they flew right away to manila coz her husband was working there. basically the house was never resided, it was empty actually. after we moved & arranged everything, we settled to our rooms. my room was the 1st door at the 2nd floor, adjacent to my cousins room. 2 rooms downstairs & 2 rooms up. my ate (a close friend and my roommate) was always out that time coz she often stayed the night at her bf's place, that ended me being alone in the room most nights. things started to get creepy when one night (almost midnight) the computer in the sala was humming loudly. i thought my cousin was using it coz he often stayed late at night playing NBA game. i ignored it, few minutes have passed i heard the swivel chair moving across the sala so that really proved me that my cousin was playing. the next day when we were having breakfast, i teased my cousin for staying up so late ""uyy, juan ha baka d nah nba nilalaro mo. magdamagan talaga?"". he looked confused, and asked me what did i mean. so i told him that i heard the computer humming and the swivel chair moving in the sala. to my surprise he said ""maaga ako natulog kagabi kasi nga dbah early class natin."" i was dumbfounded that i turned to my housemates and asked them if they heard something the previous night. when i saw the shocked look in their faces, i knew right then that something was wrong. that one frightful night was just the beginning of it. every other night we heard the computer & the swivel chair being used. neither of us dared to come out of our rooms coz let's face it, ""facing-ur-fear-cliche"" only happens in movies. pun intended. nights went by that we were already getting used to it as long as we don't go outside then no harm done. just imagine how hard it was when i wanted to pee but forced to sleep it out just to avoid whatever that thing in the sala. lol. then one early morning, i was lying in my room procrastinating. i had a class that would start at 10am so i've decided to get up at 8am to prep for school. while waiting for the time, i could hear from my room that ate and my other housemates were preparing breakfast. all of a sudden there was this girl with a long black hair hovering just above me, right above my face and she was humming something that i couldn't understand. i couldn't figure out her face since it was covered with hair. terrified, i screamed my lungs out ""ate, ate tulong!"". but i didn't feel anyone coming into my room. since the girl literally trapped my upper body with hers i couldn't see anything from where i was lying. but i know in my mind that i was shouting already, i just didn't know why they couldn't hear me. moments later i was still shouting and crying at the same time, my ate was hugging me while saying ""irebuke mo lang, irebuke mo lang"". i didn't understand her at first, then i realized the ""girl"" was no longer there. i immediately told ate ""kanina pa ako sumisigaw, ba't di nyo ako narinig?"". then ate said ""di ka namin narinig kasi hindi ka naman sumisigaw"". she told me that they were calling me downstairs to eat breakfast but didn't hear any response so she opted in coming upstairs to get me to eat. she was petrified with what she saw coz according to her i looked like i was struggling with something but my mouth was close with my horror-struck eyes wide open staring above the ceiling. my hands were balled into fist gripping the bedsheets and i was groaning. she then shook me to woke me up. she aked me what happened and i recounted the event that just transpired. she told me that the ""girl"" might also be the one who was using the computer at night. she's the other entity who's living in the house even before we got there. i was horrified, i couldn't explain or put into words my fear. i know that aside from human beings, there are other creatures or entities who are living among us but i didn't believe it first coz i'm the ""to see is to believe"" type of person. but after my first-hand experience with one of them i now truly believed that they're real. proven and tested. i can still feel the creeps while writing this. thank you for taking the time to read. i hope that i didn't bore you with my story. good day. thank you admin.
