previous chapter:
Aayan looked at me giving me should I face. I nodded he paid them the last of what he had left in his pocket. Iman took me inside and set me on the bed it was different there were flowers everywhere.
"good luck and have fun tonight" Iman winked
"shut up Iman" and with that Iman left.
I was alone and now I was waiting for Aayan to come.
Ayesha pov
It's been over 5 minutes and Aayan hasn't come yet. I wonder what is taking him so long. I can't stop thinking how my father gave me away. I can't say anything now he gave me away and I can't go back. I'm stuck here and if anything goes wrong I have to fix it myself. I still don't trust Aayan I might have said fine but I know that I haven't forgiven him. He's going to have to earn that forgiveness.
I heard the room door opened. I flinched for some reason. My heart was beating fast I was nervous and I still had the dress on which made me feel uncomfortable. I saw Aayan coming in the room. I lowered my gaze,I was shaking.
I felt the bed sink in.
"you don't have to lower your gaze you know I'm your husband," Aayan said in a soothing voice. I didn't look up I felt scared. I am afraid letting anyone in. I am afraid if I do they will hate me just like everyone else eventually did. I have to keep my distance. If I don't I'll get hurt.
I felt a hand on my hand that was resting on my thigh. I felt something I felt a tingling feeling in my stomach.
"please look at me" Aayan pleaded. I didn't I couldn't I can't move. He placed his index finger on my chin and his thumb underneath my chin and slowly lifted my head. I looked straight into his eyes. His eyes were sparkling I don't know with what but I'm sure it's not love.
"Finally, I get to see you properly, You look beautiful I know I told you this before but I mean it," Aayan said with a smile on his face.
My face was bright red
"T-Tha-Thank you" I was stupid why stutter. Aayan let out a small chuckle and let go of my chin.
"What's so funny," I said raising an eyebrow
"You're nervous and you don't have to be" Aayan said getting off the bed and going into the little sitting area where his bag was.
I just sat there confused. I kept repeating you can't let him in you can't Ayesha you will hurt him. Aayan came in with a box in his hand.
"I got this for you. You didn't ask for dowry but I got you something" Aayan signed struggling to open the wrapping on the box.
He finally opened it after struggling for 2 minutes. It was a diamond ring it was the most beautiful thing I ever saw. The big diamond was covered in small ones and the band was covered in diamonds. It was beautiful but I couldn't accept it.
"I can't this is too much," I said looking down
"This is nothing compared to what you did, You sacrificed your life for me this is nothing compared to it so please accept it, and it's your wedding ring from me so please" Aayan insisted.
