Wrong end of the blade

When I came round to the land of the living once more found that I was still on the floor. I groaned, rolled onto my side and coughed up the excess blood that had gathered in my wined pipe.

"Fuck" I wheezed as I took a shaky breath. I hated when I had to use my gift on myself. It never got rid of the pain. Everything looked blurred beyond recognition but I could make our a few figures.

"..." Someone was speaking. I couldn't make out what it was but it seemed strained, like they were trying not to be sick or something like that. I started to see black spots and I blacked out again.

I don't know how long I was out for but when I woke up next I was in an unfamiliar bedroom. I was in a dark blue night gown and I couldn't see any of my clothes anywhere. And my hair was down. Why was it down? I never left it down.

I sat up and swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up. I looked around and tried to figure out where I was. I was confused after looking around because it looked similar to my room but it seemed fancier than the one I had been given. Perhaps it belonged to one of the brothers?

I left the room and found the stain that my blood had left right outside of the door. I stepped around it and then went to search for someone to ask how long I had been asleep for.

I couldn't fine anyone but when I got to the lounge I found a note.

'Went to school. Don't break anything and go to your room to sleep you stupid girl.

I smiled and folded the note up and placed it back down. I wasn't tired but I went back to my room and got changed into a red shirt under a black V-neck sweater, accompanied by faded black jeans, my boots and my hat. It wasn't a fedora hat like Riato's, it was more like a cowboy hat with thin leather strips at the top that were braided together at the rim.

I decided to go to the music room and play the piano again. I lost track of time whilst I played and when I was done I could hear the car pulling up outside. With a grin I headed down to the front hall and waited on the steps for them. When the door opened Yui screamed and jumped back. I think she may have thought that she had killed me.

"I...I...I..." She didn't know what to say. I smirked and tilted my hat to her.

"Nice to see you to bitch. Stabbed anyone else lately?" I asked nonchalantly. She was shaking now and hid slightly behind Subaru. My guess was that he gave her the knife for something. I grinned at her. She was whimpering now. I nodded and walked down the stairs to greet everyone else.

"Welcome back. If I may ask, how long was I asleep for?" I asked nicely. I could see Reji's eye twitch because of my hat. After all it was bad manners to wear a hat indoors, not that he ever reminds Riato of that.

"2 weeks" Ayato growled out. I blinked in surprise, I have never been out that long before. There must have been something on the knife when she stabbed me if I was out that long. I nodded though as if it was normal to survive being stabbed in the chest with a knife.

After that most of them left to do their own thing. But Riato stayed.

"Sorry about the carpet outside of your door" I said sheepishly after a few seconds of silence. He grinned back at me and tipped my hat forward so it covered my eyes. "Hey!?" I protested as I adjusted my hat to sit properly once more.

"Just don't do it again" he grinned before. Walking off into the house.
