A rude awakening

Once she had returned  from school, Yui headed to Rosalie's room to check on her. She had decided that she would help the Brunette out while she was sick, after all it must have been awful spending so much time with Laito in such a weak state. She only hoped the naive girl was alright. When Yui reached the closed door she paused, listening for any sounds inside. It was silent. She realised it was silent because no one was there. She had run to the brothers to tell them that Rosalie was missing from her room, and that Laito wasnt there either.

Reiji was not happy to hear either of these little tid bits of information. Silently he led the way to Laito's room and threw the door open, before stopping in his tracks.

"Well what is it!" Ayato demanded. Reiji stepped out of the way to the the other 2/3 of the triplets as they burst into the room. Both froze once they spotted the sight before them. Kanato couldnt remember the last time Laito had cuddled with anyone in his sleep, never mind cuddle with either person wrapped in a seperate duvet - neither having thier own either. No one knew what to say about the strange occurance, until Subaru did.

"OI, LAITO!" the red headed vampire shot up and glared at his little brother. Rosalie had been spooked out of her sleep and had choked on air. She statred to cough until her face had gone bright red and her lung had been all but coughed up. She muttered out something that made Laito smirk before he turned back to his brothers and glared.

"What is it?" Yui hid behind Ayato when she heard how angry Laito sounded.

"What are you doing?" Reiji demanded to know. Laito's eyebrow twitched in annoyance.

"Well I was sleeping, is there a problem with that?" he snapped back at his older brother.  Rosalie curled up under the duvet again and was trying to get back to sleep, but they could all heard the faint coughing that seemed to be dotted with moments where she drew a few breaths and then the coughing started again. During one of these intivals Shu heard the disticntive line, 'I'm allergic to their bullshit,' uttered by the only Brunette who lived in the mannor house. Laito had heard her too, but they seemed to be the only ones who did. Ayato and Kanato watched as thier brother seemed to laugh at nothing, before they remembered that Rosalie could be very sarcastic when she wanted to be, and her voice was almost non-existent, so she could have just snarked Reiji and gotten away with it.

"Why are you sleeping in the same bed as her?" Kanato asked. The tone he used was neither here nor there but it seemed to Rosalie like a mix of confusion, curiosity and anger.

"Because, its warmer in here," Rosalie managed to rasp out loud enough for everyone to hear, before she was over come with another fit of coughing. Kanato looked at the little lump of fabric that hid the girl, before he took in how warm the room was. It was much warmer than Rosalie's room had been when they had found her. It still didn't explain why she was in his brothers bed and curled up in the green blanket that he knew didn't belong to her.

"So you're in our brothers bed?" Ayato asked incredulously. Laito waited for Rosalie to explain to them why, because he didn't really know her reasoning.

"Couch wasn't comfy enough... chairs too small... and didn't want to sleep on the floor," the sentence was broken up with small strangled breaths that Yui recognised as a suppressed cough. Laito watched as he saw her eyes drift close and her coughing finally stopped. The others noticed and Kanato even climbed onto the bed to look at her. She still looked pale, her cheeks were flushed red from heat but she seemed calmer than he had ever seen her before.

He watched as she breathed. It was calm, but he could hear the small little discrepancies that indicated that something in her throat had been damaged from the coughing.

"Has she always been so small?" The others gave the Purple haired Vampire strange looks as he continued to watch the Brunette sleep.

"Small? Yeah, she wears heals," Yui pointed out. The others glanced to her in shocked before looking back to the brunette who was small enough that if she curled up she could fit snuggly between Laito's arm and his side.

Ayato made his way to join his brothers on the bed and looked at the girl sceptically. She was small. She was smaller than Kanato was and looked smaller than Yui too. How had he not noticed before.

"How old is she?" Yui asked curiously. Rosalie wasn't in her class so she didn't know if the brunette was older or younger than she was.

"She is sixteen," Shu stated lazily from Laito's couch. Rosalie had curled up even more after the triplets had crowded round her, making her look much smaller than she actually was. They had thought she was older than that.

Before they could continue to discuss the topic Rosalie shifted in her sleep and her hand latched into the closest thing to her. Kanato.

The other watched as the smallest of the brothers processed what was happening. The small girl, who was sleeping in his brothers bed, had a vice-grip on his hoody. He didn't know how to respond. He would have lashed out, but she seemed to be in pain, like someone was hurting her. Her other hand was gripping the sheets and her knuckles had gone white from the pressure. Kanato watched as her grip tightened before finally letting go of him and latching onto Laito.

As he watched her, he spotted something odd. After latching onto Laito - the debated worst of the lot - she calmed down. Laito didn't even bother with the sudden grip on his bare arm, he was more interested in what Ayato seemed to be doing.

"So we can drink her blood?" The room went silent. The brothers all turned to Reiji, until they heard Shu laugh.

"You could try," he stated "If you want to end up in an early grave." the room was silent.

"But she's harmless," Kanato argued.

"She's as harmless as a Black widow spider. you want to try go ahead, but don't blame me if you die," Shu stated, before he left the room, followed quickly by Subaru and the Reiji.

The triplets looked to the small girl who lay between them and wondered just how Dangerous such a small girl like Rosalie could be.
