Damon:
I had only felt true fear a few times in my life, meeting Lucifer for the first time, watching my friend get turned into a horrible monster, and… seeing the love of my life die by the hands of one we called friend. Another thing was now added to that list, being within the walls of the Angels temple. The light never seemed to dim here, although it was pitch black outside. It was the angel’s magic that caused it, I was sure. The walls were decorated with carvings of Angels Killing our kind “and people say angels aren’t sadistic” I mumbled under my breath.
Raven and I continued through the hallways. I assumed the angels were used to sleeping in bright light of the temple since none of them seemed to walk the halls. It was strange but I was grateful, we didn’t need the hassle of fighting the angels.
Soon Raven and I came to a large chamber, it seemed somehow brighter than the others “Damon look” Raven said, pointing towards a large pillar that sat in the centre of the room. My eyes moved up higher, following the pillar and I gasped. The stone of rosella sat at the very stop, however, it was no encased inside a crystal like orb “this…. This is the angels magic” I said “they… they knew!” just as I said that the crystal shattered and I turned to see a male Angel standing there with a smug look on his face “Garrick” I growled at him
“I see I have a reputation with you, demon” Garrick spoke “the moment you entered the temple, the jewel gave off a fight light… I knew her worshippers would be here soon, that is why I placed the decoy in her stead”
“so that wasn’t the real thing” Raven said, letting out a sigh of relief “thank goodness”
“what would scum like you know of anything good” spoke Garrick
“More then you!” I said “give us the real Jewel! Without it you are dooming your own people!”
“Oh no… this Jewel will mean the destruction of your kind!” Garrick spat “ANGELS! DESTROY THEM!”
I looked around to see Angels moving from every corner of the room, walking towards us, there had to be about thirty of them in total, not including Garrick who seemed to count as another ten with the power he radiated. “what the hell are we meant to do Damon” Raven growled “we cant take them all on!”
“I know! I know! Im working on it” I said, trying to work out a plan. I kept looking around, trying to find some weak point in their advance when I noticed one suddenly drop dead “what the-“ I said in surprise, only to have my question answer, two cloaked figures stood not far from us “sorry were late” said the taller of the two “we had… other business to take care of first” they moved as fast as lightning taking out each of the angels, one stood back from a distance using a gun in each hand, and the other came right up close decapitating the angels head.
They saved Garrick for last, one coming from each side “stop!” I yelled, the two cloaked figures stopped just centimetres away from him “we need him alive, Garrick where is the jewel” I spoke glaring at him “that is none of your concern” Garrick growled
“Yes, but here is the thing, your life is in our hands” I said “tell us, and we will let you live”
“why should I trust you filth” Garrick growled
“because at least you have a chance of survival if you work with us” I spoke
“here” Garrick said after a brief pause “take the damn Jewel” he threw it towards me and I caught it, just before it could land on the ground and shatter “Leave him” I said walking past him and towards the exit, Raven by my side “but knock him out first” I didn’t see it, but I heard a large slam and not long after, footsteps following us.
Once we were outside I turned to the two of them “who are you” I said “why are you helping us”
“our names are Daisuke and Terra” spoke the taller one “we are Reapers who broke off from our brethren and now work as mercenaries for hire, our current employer asked us to follow you and only involve ourselves in matters that involve the angels, and that should we be involved we are to leave as soon as you were safe”
“Who is your employer?” I demanded, unsure if these two should be trusted
“That is none of your concern” hissed the smaller one
“What my brother means is that it’s a matter of Employer employee confidentiality” spoke Daisuke
“So you are officially out of his employment now?” I asked, curiously
“Yes” they both said at the same time
“Then you shall join forces with us” I said “should we win out battle you will be paid more than you have ever imagined”
“And… should you lose” said Daisuke
“well you will probably be dead along with us” said Raven the two Reapers looked to each other momentarily and nodded “we accept” they said together
“Very good” I said “follow me” I turned and walked back towards where we had left Ruby-rose and Maya.
Ruby-rose:
Maya’s story had long since finished and now I was starting to get worried, Damon and Raven should have been back by now, what if they were hurt, or even worse, killed. I couldn’t imagine my life without them “Be calm, Ruby-rose” Maya spoke “they will be fine, I assure you” I couldn’t understand how Maya could be so calm about all this, she had practically sent them to their death beds.
I kept pacing back and forth when I noticed four body like shapes in the distance “Damon?” I asked, and as soon as the image became clearer I ran “DAMON!” I yelled out jumping into his arms “oh thank god your safe” I said, tears falling down my face, which was now buried in his chest, I felt him relax and felt his strong arms wrap around me “Roise” he said sounding almost relieved
“What am I? Chopped liver” said Raven laughing
“Sorry Raven” I said hugging her as well “I was worried about you as well”
“it’s all good” she let go of me and walked over to Maya “My lady, the Jewel” she said, handing it over to her “excellent” said Maya, grabbing hold of the staff and the orb “this will take a moment” she moved away from the group to put the staff together. I turned back to Damon and that was when I noticed the two guys “who are they?” I asked curious
“Daisuke and Terra” spoke Damon “were paying them to help us, there reapers, powerful ones to by the look of it”
“Wait, wait, wait, you’re PAYING them?” I said in shock “with what money”
“I have this under control Rosie, don’t worry so much” Damon said softly, kissing my forehead
“how can I not when you’re so stupid” I mumbled hugging Damon, his soft chuckle echoing in my ear
“Ahem” I heard Maya clear her voice and I jumped away from Damon quickly, turning to face her “it’s done, here Ruby-rose, you should hold it” she said softly, handing out the staff to me. Nervously I looked to Raven who smiled at me encouragingly, then to Damon, who nodded to me like this was the right to do. Slowly I reached out to grab the staff “NO! RUBY-ROSE!” I turned around to see a man running towards me, a panicked expression on his face “Marcus!” I was in shock
