Blanche's POV

"Alright class dismissed! I'll conclude my grand tale next class!" Professor Port announced. Amid the barely disguised groans of the rest of the class, I packed my bag and shook Byzantine awake. Xander gave Ming a solid kick in the shins. Xander and I were the only ones on the team who could stay awake in Port's class, and even then we barely managed to stay awake. Port was truly talented at going off on a tangent within a minute of the class starting.

"Ugh thank god we have Goodwitch after lunch....I can't take much more of Port's stories," Ming groaned as he grabbed his bag. We all nodded in agreement. There were only two classes today, and they had sparring after lunch. We all sat down at our usual table with trays piled with food. Team RWBY and JNPR waved at us from two tables down, and Team CFVY gave us a nod. Velvet swung by to give me a quick hug before rushing off after her team.

"So what do you think we're doing in Goodwitch's class today?" Xander mumbled around a mouthful of mashed potatoes. "Sparring obviously," Byzantine shook her head at him. "I meant what kind of sparring. We usually do either teams or singles, I wonder if we're going to change it up today," Xander swallowed his food. "Who knows, I'm hoping we actually mix teams up," Ming supplied. I ate my ramen in silence, listening to my teammates banter.

"Ow, stop that hurts!" I glanced up from my bowl and saw Cardin and his team around Velvet. Cardin's hands were wrapped around one of Velvet's rabbit ears. Narrowing my eyes, I set down my chopsticks and stalked towards Team CRDL. Velvet saw me coming and frantically shook her head for me to stop, but cried out again as Cardin tugged on her ears.

"Get your hands off of her," I growled, my fox ears twitching irritably. "What are you going to do?" Cardin and his team leered at me. I reached up and pinched a nerve in Cardin's neck, causing him to stiffen in pain. "Let her go." Cardin squeaked before letting go of Velvet. I squeezed harder, making his knees buckle before letting him go, making him fall on the floor. "You okay Velvet?" "Yes, thank you. But you didn't need to do that, they'll try to hurt you next." I gave Team CRDL a scathing look,"I can handle them." Velvet rubbed her ears and walked off after thanking me again.

I rounded on CRDL,"You ever pick on someone like that again, I won't hesitate to kick your asses," I spat out. Cardin glared at me and didn't say anything. I turned and began walking away. A few seconds later, I heard him mutter,"She's going to pay for that." I took a breath and shook my head. They weren't worth it.

"Come on, it's time for Goodwitch's class," I grabbed my leftover ramen and tossed it into the trash. My team followed after me. "You do realize they're going to try something after you humiliated them like that right?" Xander jogged up to me. "I know. I'll be ready for whatever they throw at me. Hopefully." "Let's just get our weapons, Goodwitch is going to have our heads if we're late," Ming mumbled. "Don't worry Blanche, if they try anything, I can just toss them into Forever Fall without their weapons!" Byzantine grinned maniacally. I shook my head at her. Sometimes she was worse than Nora.

"Let's go," I grabbed my weapons from my locker. I tied my sword and tessen to my kimono, wrapped my chain around my waist, and slipped on the shuriken holsters. Xander checked his weapon, turning the spear into a bow. His weapon was unique in that instead of firing traditional arrows, his bow utilized Dust. The spear tip doubled as a firing mechanism to fire bolts of whatever Dust he chose. Byzantine's weapon was like Nora's Magnhild in that it was extremely powerful and could deliver devastating blows. Hers was a double bladed battle axe that had Fire Dust infused into the blades. On occasion, she also utilized Lava Dust (which was Earth and Fire Dust that had been naturally combined). Last time she had used it though, she had smashed right through another team's weapons; Goodwitch had banned her from using it during sparring class after that. A Dust-chambered pair of sai made up Ming's weapon. It could also transform into throwing discs but it was rare for him to use it. He preferred to get up and personal with his opponents.

We finished checking our weapons and walked off to class.
